I picked mine because I smoke a pipe. And Jim was kind enough to modify my avatar to reflect this. Plus, a pair of glasses on my avatar and you have a pretty good likeness of me. LOL....

I got the nickname Gunner 20 years ago after winning a case of beer for my Plt. in a MG competition, and the K19 was my fire dept. roster number; It's also my MOS reversed (19K- M1 tanker)...
and that's the rest of the story

Well, let's see. Considering Selrach is my husband, mrs_selrach just sorta fit, being married n all. My chatroom nickname is plastic_widow, and Sel came up with that, and I liked it, so I use it for my chatroom nickname. That's pretty much it for me.

Mine "MANCHU 34" comes from my callsign I used when CEOIs weren't needed. Manchu came from my US Army Infantry Regiment afflication the 9 US Infantry Regiment. One of the most decerated Infantrty regiments in the US Army. 34 was the bumper number for the vehicle(s) I commanded through 4 differant battalions and nearly 9 years.

Why Hollowpoint? Maybe because my head is pointy and empty? #:-)
Actually, when I joined Armorama many moons ago, I was sulking for missing deer hunting that fall. Hollowpoints are some of my favorite hunting ammunition (and a bit catchier than "Nosler Partition").

I chose mine based on one of my favorite movies, "Kelly's Heroes". I tried to pick "Oddball first but someone had it, then I tried Kelley (spelled with an "e" so it would be a little different) and it worked. So there ya' go.

I study a pile of martial arts (12 to be exact) and as such, my friends gave me the nickname Grasshopper. Back in the early AOL days, the SN Grasshopper was taken, so I dropped the last two letters and added 12 as place holders more than anything else.

Started at TankNet where I registered as Gennady I. Beregovoy. For the sake of consistency (since some others I know at TankNet are also at other discussion boards - like Jacques and The Swede [or was it Steelspear?] who are here) I use GIBeregovoy (GI to shorten the Gennady I. part). I'm also registered at the Steelbeasts fan site. Now, as to why I chose it as my nom de guerre, I have to kill you if I told you. #:-)

Mine is easy too: "GunTruck" as taken from my website/hobby business GunTruck Studios. "Gunnie" was a given name by Big Jim early in the days of Armorama. My name is Jim too and I signed my messages that way. "Gunnie" is short for "GunTruck" and an easy way to keep from being confused with Big Jim.

Well, let´s see...
Envar Schkaader is a Latvijan ace fighter pilot (394 air victories during the Great Unknown War with his trusted Potlowski POT-0 plane), test pilot and a rocket scientist. He has a pet owl he likes to call "Owl" and he likes bratwurst, sauerkraut and pilsner. Envar has black belt in Japanese gardening and he is an artillery sergeant forever.
Just like myself.

Thanks Envar for injecting some humour.
KiwiDave is pretty obvious, I live in Godzone and I am Dave. Kiwi was my nickname during my big OE in the UK where I worked in the aircraft industry. I was also known as JC in those days as a result of the shoulder length hair and beard.
At the time I joined Armorama Sabot was forever reminding people that this is a family forum so I thought something dull and boring would be safest.
Regards Dave

Holdfast was radio talk for Engineers when I first joined the British Army as a Royal Engineer. Engineers are known as Sappers (to sap, a method of digging) Engineers are always first in last out (combat Engineers anyway. That's what I was) UBIQUE is the Royal Engineers motto, it means every where (as apposed to the Royal Artillary who are all over the place ) My interest in aircraft might stem from the fact that it was the Royal Engineers that first started flying within the British armed forces. Actually they also developed the tank so that doesn't compute. The picture of the Spitfires during the battle for Briton, you just can't have to many spitfires. Ho! nearly forgot, my avatar, Robin Hood, I was born in Nottingham and live close to Sherwood forest (apparently I'm related) :-)
