The story goes like this. In Dec of 1967 we were short of cooks and bakers for the bBn.. Mess Hall. I got pick as a tempory baker till replacements arrived. Well I drove the units recovery vehicle and water truck and at night I woud hang out in the mess hall and help Big "Red" our night baker with cooking and serving the mid night chow. Anyways The brass put me in the chow hall as a night baker. I got stuck in there for 2 and 1/2 months. Replacements had arrived after only three weeks but the Bn. Commander liked my baking so he would not let me return to my regular duty. Thats where the "chocolate cake" comes in. The Bn. Commander liked chocolate cake and asked the mess Sgt to bake him up a special three layer for a "party he wanted to throw for some other brass. I was tasked with said cake. I had a friend over at the Evac Hospital who at times would get me some things that I might need. Well I got the "Chocolate" (Exlax) to use in the cake. I figured if he would not let me out of the chow hall then I would have him remember me in a big way. Well to make a long story short He ate most of the cake himself and as you might guess he ended up with a very bad case of you know what. He had to go to the hospital for a few days. When he returned he was a little ticked at me and well I got busted, but I got out of the chow hall. As Paul Harvey used to say "And thats the rest of the story" "Good Day"...PS. I gained a new found respect for all the guys who were cooks and bakers over there. They worked very long hours to keep the troops fed and happy.

Hi all,
I chose Pak40 because not is it only my favorite AT gun, it is also the most used AT gun by the Wehrmacht. I like to be useful and I consider myself slightly different from other modellers. If you can figure out what that means you are better than me.

When I started back into this hobby I kind of related it to playing with toys when I was younger. I used to have an area outside which was my favorite and referred to it as my 'sandbox'. Now that I am serious about this habit...hobby, I can see that was a false first impression to have of this past time.

Well, I'm from. Guess where :-)
I also did one week of job rotation with Irishbat when I was in Lebanon in -91 and they started to call me Swede and when this Internet thing came along and I needed a screen name I thought it was cool.
Another thing for you Clint Eastwood fans. I'm 195 cm tall and weighs 115kg :-) (Heartbreak ridge)

LOL, that's the first thought I had when I saw you screen name.

I guess I get to post twice since my first post no longer applies. Steve (WeWillHold) got tired of me preaching about the Abrams all the time so he started calling me Brother Abrams, then a few others picked up on it and it stuck so I had Jim change my screen name.

My screen name is teevee slang for a news photographer (which is what I do for a living). Most places I'm just "shootER", but this board and a couple more already had a "shooter" registered so I added the "5" (the channel where I currently work as well as being my favorite number).

Oh, and I have quite a few guns that I like to shoot.

Although it has been many years since I have read one, mine comes from the series of books by Harold Coyle. Dixon was the main character and his track was HQ-66, hence Dixon66.
