A late Australian friend of mine and I were discussing weekend plans one day. I said the GF and I were going to have a nice dinner, and practice procreating. "Ah", he said, "you're going to do a wombat". What's a wombat do? Eats roots and leaves. "Rooting" is an Australianism for, well, you guessed it. So a guy that "does a wombat" eats, roots, and leaves.

I thought it was hysterical at the time, and adopted the wombat as my totem. "Cyber" - well, I'm a geek by trade, that was pretty easy. I think I've used that handle for ten or fifteen years now.

Well, up until a couple of days ago, my callsign was USNavy2534, but since I'm joining the Army, it makes no sense to have that name, so it got switched. 2534 is a carryover from a really old and no longer used AOL screenname.

jba is for my name Jean-Bernard André, lengthy and cumbersome name as well as seventies sounding, so i am used to nicknames.
and then neither significance, nor mistery as I saved those elements for my dioramas

JPTRR = Jackson Purchase & Texas Rail Road, my modeling masterpiece.

It began 30+ years ago as my freelance model RR. It has grown from a no-nothing flight of fancy into a highly detailed archived model empire.

...references an old Skinny Puppy song from '85 that got me out of the typical 'hair metal' and etcetera crap-music that plagued us kids growing up in mid-Ohio in the eighties (and thus caused me to become one of the social outcasts in my rather small high school): "Smashed Glass Houses".

Mine was an unfortunate nickname from when I worked in a sawmill.
I used to make sure everything was correct etc, but to them I was never really fast enough !!

I'm quite proud of it now!

Well, needed a login name fast for an unrelated site, couldn't think of anything, so chose Boogaloo (odd things pop in my head after several s). It was taken, so added Jones to the end to make it unique.
I shortened it to BoogalooJ and used it ever since. Have to admit, I am tired of it now, so may have to see if I can change it to something else.

Not sure how my nickname came about. I got it back when I used to be a bodybuilder. I was 6'6" 292lbs at the time and I could drink unheard of amounts of beer and rye at one sitting. The name is a derivative of "Tapping a keg" I think.

We all know what a Sprue is. One is the first one out of the tooling to check for defects and mistakes, which there usually is.

Named for a fast horse... Being a truck driver, I thought it appropriate.

Mine came from a nickname I picked up in college. Waaay back when, I had a pretty good mullet and I chose to not shave very often, so my first room mate said that I looked like a cross between a werewolf and Wolfman Jack. He then shortened it to Wolf. It stuck and is my nickname to this day. My kids call me Wolf occasionally.
When I signed on here wolf was taken so I just added an 'e' to the end.

I get tired of remembering all the differetn screen names for everythign I do. Ebay, Military.com, here, other message boards.

So, I use the same one for just about everyone. Goldenpony somes from my wives horse. He is a buckskin colored quarter horse and in the summer gets a bright golden coat. so, goldenpony.
