It appears as though she had protective flaps which covered the bridge windows so they're obviously closed. Ships of her vintage actually had an open bridge. The idea of putting the watchkeeping officers inside out of the weather didn't happen for another few years.
Even if the windows weren't closed, you wouldn't be seeing any light out of them; we keep the bridge lights off because if we didn't, the windows would only be showing us our reflections, and it's pretty difficult to drive if you can't see out. Not to mention how white light kills night vision.

Not to mention that the light would've been visible for miles! And I agree Jess no point driving if you can't see where you're going! so what do you plan on Building Ma'am? Something nautical? Or will you be continuing with your commercial airline theme?

Actually I'm thinking of something completely different.

Ahhhhh now that would be interesting to watch you build and paint! I have to admit that people who build figures are a group of people I have a lot respect for. My attempts have been rather poor they wind up looking like lead toy soldiers not a miniature person! LOL

Hey Jess, what counts in as ancient, would a 1978 Hurricane Mk.1 from Aircraft of the aces series do?
Cheers.

Hi
Does the EE lightning 1/48 count or the TSR-2. Both have resin extras I plan to use. I know they are re-released but don't think they are new moulds.
??????

The 1/48 Lightning was first released in 1999 or 2000 and the TSR2 in 2006 or thereabouts. Unhappily they're far too new to count as "ancient"
