Congratulations, Murdo. Your build means that we have one of each option available in the current box on display

Love that Gazelle. It's nice to see helicopters get attention.

I already have the Ford in the mix Jessie and I will be waiting for a while for the rigging thread so don't worry about the Endeavour.
Well the Ford needs to get into the Gallery. Pics or it didn't happen

Thanks muchly.
Unfortunately this being in the Kitmaker University realm makes it had to find anything to do with it.
Cheers

My antennae were tweaked by the appearance of my name on the outstanding entries list, but in the background progress continues. It doesn't look like much, but there's also some completed gun turrets with replacement gun tubes waiting to go on after some of the painting. I suspect like a lot of others have found, the relatively simple construction and low parts count is off set by the amount of trimming, filling, sanding and filing.

It's good to see that we'll have at least one ship in the finishers

Airfix kits were the main cause of us all acquiring "some modelling skills required", whether we wanted to or not. For that you have to love them.

It's really too bad that nobody did any real space subjects. This one's not quite finished, but I started it before we began the campaign. I'm a little reluctant to break my own rules and include it...

Cool Vostock Jessie. I've always been tempted to get one of those. I've heard that it includes a little in scale Yuri Gagarin to place on the base?
Really nice work. Is the loco fully workable or static?
I have a couple of evenings after work to try to get mine finished. Afraid my other half has plans for this easter weekend and I'm being dragged away from the bench. Cannot guarantee she'll launch by the deadline
On the bench: 1/72 Mosquito, Lightning F.6, DH.2,
AMT Vulcan Shuttle Surak.
Cyber-Hobby 1:35 Sherman Firefly IC - still stalled.

Yes it does, and his pressure suit is done really nicely. That's part of what's not finished about it; I have to take the time to paint him properly or he'll look terrible.
The major problem is that the centre booster is about 1 cm too short, and the 4 outer boosters are too narrow by about 1/4 of their diameter. When you put the Soyuz on top it looks ridiculously top-heavy.

I wondered what the larger capsule was. I was thinking it might have been the Voskhod.
Given the extreme secrecy of the Soviet Rocket programme I think we can forgive Airfix of any inaccuracies. Its also great to have the options.
The certainly did a better job that the London Science museum....

Rumour has it that the model was commissioned based on an image on a soviet postage stamp.

The LMS Royal Scots Fusilier is fully functional. It is a 12V DC model. It was released in the late 1970's as part of the Airfix OO scale line. At the time of it's release it set the bar for British outline locomotives. I use it on my LMS based Prestatyn and Dyserth Railway (a London and North Western quarry branch line). The layout is currently 2'X6' and will be expanding to 10'x10'. I have a nice collection of rolling stock to model the post WW2 to early 1950's era. The turntable will be at the end of the branch line along with an engine house and water tank (more Airfix kits). Any one for Ancient Airfix Modelers 2?

Cool. I never knew they did fully running models. I've seen the kits but that's a new one. It looks to be in fantastic condition too. I'm sure there are LOTS of railway modellers in the UK that would take your arm off to get it!
I'd be up for a second campaign, there are still lots of great old kits to do.

I wondered what the larger capsule was. I was thinking it might have been the Voskhod.
The smaller payload fairing is the Luna probe
And the larger one is the Soyuz. You get a half-melted looking Souuz spacecraft to put inside the fairing. It really needs some etched detail, especially the stabilizer grids which are the strange white blobs on the outside.
Now the boosters really look out of proportion.
