Marvellous campaign Miss Jessie.
I would be up for Airfix II as soon as we can. I have a Moskva I have had since the 1970s just waiting to be finished.
Cheers

Nice collection. I never knew that Airfix did an HE177 though. I'd be keen to see one of those built. The little Sopwith Pup is a fantastic kit. I got hold of one recently and was VERY surprised at whats in the box. Very nicely done and equal to any WW1 kit at that scale currently produced by Eduard or Roden. Shame Airfix no longer make it.

...until they re-issue it again...
That's the beauty of Airfix; they'll cycle through their catalogue as many times as they want, keeping kits in production so than many more people can enjoy what made Airfix so special.

I'm thinking that Airfix II can be opened up as far as the age of the kits goes. They're making some very tasty stuff these days

Nope, leave the ago thing as it is I reckon. How can it be ancient if the mold is not ancient. Tasty latest stuff can be covered in other campaigns.

Stephen,
Here is a peek inside the box of this 1968 vintage kit.

I built that one back in the 1970s. So long ago I don't remember anything about it except maybe the paint scheme which as I was pretty young I would have done splinter all over, not a blotches sort of person back then.

@ Jessie, I vote 1978.. I think that or 1980 were about the end of the regular releases from that ownership.

1980's a nice round number, and we can do everything that was done right through the '70s.

As I'm straggling past the finish line, my air brush didn't make the trip with me so its gonna be a bit longer.

But I've got plenty more candidates for Airfix II, and maybe few for old Revell or old Monogram.

Count me in, I am not too bothered About the late 70s except I seem to remember the Vosper, Schnellboot, and HSRL kits appeared then, the first Airfix kits that really impressed me and I built all three.

Utterly fantastic campaign Jess ,soooooooo many memories
Airfix 2 ,Pleassssseeee
Brent ,I remember getting that 177 from my uncle John for my 9th birthday in 1971 and getting the #395 bus from Melrose ave to Queensway in Bletchley to go to Neils toy shop to buy the paint for it
The anti shipping bombs were my favorite ,so cool to a 9 year old
Tear in my eye thinking about happy care free days when every weekend was a different Airfix adventure

I'm in. What the heck! Gives me a reason to build that Lockheed L-1011 Tristar I've had in the stash since 1993.

I'm in Jess I've got a couple of 1/48 scale kits that might just fit the bill I'll have to check the mould dates. Just to confirm that 1980 is the end limit? I think I've got an 1/48 scale Bf109-E and a F LOL who knows perhaps I might do both? Assuming they both fall within the time frame.

For me Airfix and Revell were the grist in my early modeling adventure. I purchase these kits when ever I find them at a good price. The He177 was purchased at my local HS last year for $8.99 plus tax. It and the other Airfix kits were part of a lot that were put up for sale by the proprietor.

Yes, thanks for such a well run campaign Jessica, and great enthusiasm from everyone involved; definitely looking forward to seeing all of the builds together in the
campaign report.
I've added some photos of HMS Daring to the gallery:

May I have a ribbon, please?

I would like to take part in a follow up; I have a fair few more kits that would qualify, including the 1/24 BF109 and Mustang in the loft...

Award fairly earned and duly given

That really looks good, especially the nighttime shot.

Thanks Jessica - except that night time shot really shows up that there's no windows on the bridge for the captain to look out of. Should have painted some in I guess.
