Tank platoon leader, 3/H Co/2/11th ACR 1979-80 in M60A1 tanks. Then went to V Corps HQ in Frankfurt-am-Main and did Force Modernization in the military and as a DAC (went from a DAT to a DAC) from 1980-1996. Did training on M60A3 in 1986 for Reserve Armor Officer Training. Active form 1978 - 1982; Reserves 1982 - 1992

Force Mod gave me the opportunity to get on all the new vehicles being fielded into the U. S. Army. Also got on a Bundeswehr Leo II and Marder. Worked and drank with West German and Canadian officers and soldiers during my time when I put the uniform back on for a couple of weeks. I got to know some Canadian soldiers through armor modeling when a friend of mine held a model contest in Fulda and couple of Canadian modelers came up to judge and share some tips. Good times in Germany from 1979 - 1996.

Now I am defense contractor doing databases for computer wargames for the U.S. Army Reserves and National Guard in the SE USA in Birmingham Alabama. Been doing this for 10 years.

Salute to all that are or have served.

Basic training as artillery spotter -86-87, learning how to shell the neighbours arty with 155's.

Now I've been platoon commander in the Swe national guard since 2000 and will persist until they shut us down completely! I guess the switch from arty to grunt is easier than the other way around.

But i do miss hearing the big zippers being pulled across the sky, trying to have the solution for the second volley ready before the first hit....

ex US Navy (AO-3) aircrew on P-3's looking for pig boats. Loved flying and visiting different places, but living over the ocean for 12-18 hours was boring. I would still do it again.

Aviation Electricians Mate US Navy, I retired 3 years ago, although too young to really be retired, working as a test technician for an aerospace co in Costa Mesa, Ca.
Spent my career at:
Miramar on F-14's
Japan with S-3's
China Lake and Lemoore on the F-18
Had fun, not sure if I miss it yet...except the people.
