8 years US Army Reserve (1987-95)
Started out as a 67N UH-1H helo mech and finished as a 31C radio teletype operator in a MI unit.

Spent a year and a half in Army ROTC but was declared "unfit" for comissioning after herniating several discs in my lower back in 1990. However, they said I could still finish out my reserve enlistment.

10 years in the Royal New Zealand Air Force. Mostly as an armourer, but four years as a photographer and now back in the armament world again. Served on 75 sqn working on A4Ks, worked on MB Mk10 ejection seats and various bomb racks. Currently servicing the Western Gear rescue hoist from the Iroquois and servicing small arms.

Buy mostly armour, figures and aircraft, build....not much...

I am a former Army National Guard member who served in Desert Storm (Part 1) with the 1485th Transportation Unit from Dover, Ohio. Served in the military from 1985 to 1992 and got out with the E-5 Sergeant Rank. I was a Motor Vehicle Operator (Army definition), Transportation Specialist (Glamorous Definition) and Truck Driver (Majority of the World Definition)!! We hauled Armor back and forth from the Port of Dhahran to the desert and on occasion were known to haul water buffaloes(one each) on our lowboy trailers. Nice to see so many military personnel on the site. And remember, If you can't truck it , ____ it!!

Retired Colonel, US Army, Logistician, after 31 years -10-1/2 active, 20-1/2 reserve. Branch time pretty evenly split between Ordnance & Quartermaster.

Retired (early at 10 years) Dept of the Army Civilian, traveled the world providing simulation support to training events.

Works out to 33 years continuous or if you unwind the overlap, something like 41 years total in The Army.

1982 - 1990, Queen's Own Highlanders, British Army.
Went to Falklands, Northern Ireland, Germany, Canada, America, Belize, Mexico, Dakar and Kenya FREE! Woohoo! Couldn't afford it as a Civvie.

Of course there was one little drawback to serving in some of the places...

Glad I did it all the same.
