Does 6 years in a military academy complete with a US Army ROTC program qualify as some sort of military service? Sure felt like it at the time!

USAF 1961-65. Spent all four years with Pacific Stars and Stripes in Tokyo, Japan with various TDY's to various fun spots in South east Asia. Some of those spots were hell on my cameras! Heat, humidity, leeches and airborne lead pollution.

I spent 8.5 in the Army. Went around the world 4 times, 13 different countries, 1 combat zone. And I was only a light wheeled mechanic! I felt like the poster child for "been there done that". But if I could do it all again, I would in a heartbeat.

I started building autos back in the day. Now I have moved onto armor and 1/16th figures.

I have been in the Army National Guard or Army Reserve since 1985. I started out as a 19E armor crewman on an M48A5, and trained on the M60A1 RISE Passive during basic training. I graduated to the M1 series after Armor Officer Basic. I am currently a Major in a PSYOP unit, and have been deployed twice since 9/11, with a third due at the begining of next year. One of my goals is to build an M1114 with the PSYOP speaker set-up, but since I have never scratch-built anything, this may be a bit of a challenge.

Three years ROTC at Ball State University. Cadet Staff Sergeant. Just waiting on some paperwork to make it official. After that, who knows though probably a 2LT in Ordnance or MI.

Did almost 22 years with the Army.
All of it as a Scout. Started off on M151 guntrucks, moved onto the M901, then M3A1(minus) Bradley, Sheridan, and finally M3A2's here in Colorado. Got to load a lot of tanks as a scout due to our tank platoons always being undermanned, lots of fun.. Jumpmaster, sniper.....lots of fun schools and places. I miss the people, but not the BS. "Q"

I guess, I will do my part to bring this back up to the top. I was in the US Navy for just under 3 years. Left as E5 Gas Turbine Systems Tech, Mechanical. A traffic accident in Eqypt put me out, but I'd go back if they would let me.

US Navy - enlisted Aviation Electronics Technician (when the S-3A Viking was first introduced to the fleet, but I'm not old...)

Then commissioned and served as a Surface Line officer, driving various ships including USS Jouett (CG-29), USS Independence (CV-62) & USS Stein (FF-1065) and many different desks.
Then retired after 24 years.

Hmmm - those ships - Jouett and Independence are stricken from the Fleet, awaiting disposition: scrapping or sinkex; and Stein has been transferred to the Mexican Navy. But I'm not old...
