I'm currently in the FDF doing my mandatory military service (well, actually RIGHT now I'm home on my first weekend off, writing this), in the signals. I don't know yet who long I'll be serving (6,9, or 12 months), although I look forward for the shortest possible service, 6 months. I'm not that fascinated about the army yet.
I do have life to live.

I spent 12 years as a drilling National Guard soldier. Those 12 years were split between operating heavy construction equipment (2 years) and blowing stuff up as a 12B combat engineer (10 years). I have been an AGR (Active Guard & Reserve) soldier for 5 years as a unit supply sergeant.
I build armor & aircraft.

Hi all
spent my formative yrs in the Canadian Military as a trooper in the 3RD.MECH.CDO .(Airborne) in Germany in the early 70's,then RCR in Petawawa, then went civvie and joined the 2ND Battalion Irish Regiment Of Canada(reserves) I think I saw somebody else here post this Battalion. To them "Fior go Bas"Pensioned off my civvie job, and moved to beautiful Northern Michigan, unfortunately way too close to Grayling.I have to listen to F16's and A10's and MLRS units tearing up the ranges.......ahh well.wouldn't have missed it for the world Fair Winds, Soft Landings.

U.S. Army active duty SSG. 15 yrs down, 5 to go......maybe. PATRIOT Operator and Maintainer. Currently assigned to a unit which tests new equipment before it's fielded. My first love is building armor but for some reason lately I seem to be building a lot of cars for my Dad's Garden Railroad.
