Hi Jean-Luc

I've got my usual trouble of not being able to join the game. My firewall is off and when I first entered the lobby I could see Armorama, but got a timeout when I tried to join. Now I can't see Armorama's game in the lobby at all...

All the best

Well I'm glad that I got to spend some time with ya'll today. I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to make it considering that I was up half the night. I played until I was drenched in sweat from fever, now I've gotta wash up, dry off and lay back down. I got a few kills in and that's always fun

Until we meet again! Peace, and thank you for hosting.

Hi all!

Oooops! Sorry Rowan I forgot to check back here... I was too busy destroying AA Tanks with my Stuka "Kanonenvogel"!

I read something about Firewall settings... PORT UDP 2100 should be open whatever that means...

I enjoyed it today. I think Eetu and I are getting a German team. He's doing the fighting and I the destroying :-)

See you next week-end guys... server is now closed!

Hi Andy!

It would be nice to have you with us! Make sure to check the first post of this thread to "get connected"... and I hope you have a joystick!

As for flying, don't worry! Today I managed to crash my He111 while landing... I forgot to lower my landing gear! :-)

If you have anything to ask, you know were to find us!

Sorry I couldn't be there today, I am busy building the branch stand for IPMS ArmoramaUK. The big IPMS show is next week end so I won't be able to play then either, but I should be there the week after.
I liked the new scenario, got a bit dark towards the end though. It was nice to have the atmosphere but I think we should stick to midday, for the time being. The oposing forces were much closer and made for a better game, but I still think that icons should be off. Ceretainly in this scenario as it was much easier to accuire you both. However for any newbies the icons are good, especially only showing at 1km (can it be 500m?)
See you in a couple of weeks

About the icons. I think 1km is a good setting, especially considering people new to FB. Having the icons appear at 500m would be useless, as the planes are easily identified at that distance. My opinion is that 1km is a good compromise between realism and accessibility. More players is something we're all trying achieve here, right?

What are other peoples' opinion about the in-game time?
High-noon is a little too bright, IHMO. The sun slowly setting and clouds becoming all red and orange really boosts the athmosphere. Something like 3 or 4pm could be ideal for our sessions. It gets dark in the game around 6pm so we wouldn't be flying in darkness. (Btw. a nightfight would an interesting thing to try)

Hi there

Just a thought... how about having enemy aircraft appear on the map, but not have icons? That would be a bit like having a ground-controller to steer us towards the action, but we'd have to rely on Mk.1 Eyeballs when we got close.

All the best

Hi all!

Unfortunately I won't be able to play this week-end. I have problems with my Mac and want to sort that out. I will also be away on Saturday afternoon... someone else will have to do the server.

Sorry guys... see you next week-end!

I can try hosting this evening. Server name armorama1 and password the usual circus.

Jean-luc, what was the map we played on last time? And how can I set the icons to popping up at 1000m?

Hi Eetu!

The map I choosed was the following... first select the set number 4 and then map number 10 (I think ) in the IL2 menu.

Setting icones to 1000m is more difficult, but I'll try to explain it:
1 - In the game go to the radio and press the > key. This will show you the game console.
2 - Enter the following messages in the radio/console:
For friendly planes
>mp_dotrange FRIENDLY COLOR 1.0 DOT 15 RANGE 1.0 TYPE 1.0 ID 1.0 NAME 1.0
For ennemy planes
>mp_dotrange FOE COLOR 1.0 DOT 15 RANGE 1.0 TYPE 1.0 ID 1.0 NAME 1.0
3 - Press return and the settings should have changed in the game.

The console messages must be exactely the same, with correct spelling and capital letters, otherwise it won't work! You can copy and paste the message into the game. Also don't forget to set icones to ON in the game settings...

Hope it works! Good luck in the sky...

Hi Eetu!

Sorry to hear nobody showed up yesterday... it's because a lot of usual players are busy this week-end I think. Mal (Holdfast) is away for the branch stand for IPMS ArmoramaUK, Rowan (Merlin) and umustb usually don't play Friday etc...
I hope you will have more luck today. It would be good if someone would do the server from time to time. Relying on me only is not good as there would be no replacement solution in case I couldn't do the server.
As I said before, I won't be able to join today. I'm going to watch a French Cup Soccer game. A friend of mine plays against a L2 (second division) club! I hope he will score a goal and qualify it's team...

Hi all!

So who's gonna play this week-end?

I'm in for sure... two weeks are too long without an IL2 session!!!

I'm definately in too! Are you hosting today Jean-Luc? The same settings we used last time would be ideal, IMHO. The map was also great, as was the in-game time.

Okay, I've started the server (armorama1).

Edit: I see you in the ubi.com application, joining the game room, but fail to show up in the game... Perhaps you should host, Tedmamere?

Hi Eetu!

Yes I tried to join your Armorama1 server but got that "time ou" message again... We should really find out why it is not working with other doing the server... I didn't made something special so I don't have a clue!
Anyway, who will be there for the Saturday session?

Hi all!

For everyone wanting to play today I'll probably start the server earlier (12.00 UK instead of 13.00 UK) because I won't be able to play too long this time... but I can let the server run even if I leave the game...

As in the past sessions I will fly Stukas and Heinkels to do the "flying target"... but beware of my gunners and Eetu wich always protects me! Remember to choose Axis planes for Blue side and Allied ones for red side... Icones show only at 1000 m and planes (dots) will be visible at 15 km... use your radio to tell the pilots of your side where you are...

See you in the skies today!

Problems, yes big time. I'm doing something wrong but i don't know what. I click on to the play online at UBI. com and get client not compatible with server. I finally get in through an e/mail i got when i registered, i go to online games press play on IL2 FB Gold pack (its the only one there with FB on it) it then tells me i need to install active x (which i allready have and if i try to install it again it just downloads forever). Then it tells me my browser is not letting it connect, so i turn my browser off and then NOTHING AT ALL HAPPENS. Even if i start again diddlysquat happens. HELP sobsob
Andy (++)
p.s i downloaded the v22 thingy and done the other one.
