Hi all!

The server is running from now on and should be available for 4 hours...

I'll check back here in an hour to see if someone is having problems getting connected. In one hour it will be beginning of hostilities!

Remember: goal is to destroy the enemy's main airfield (see above). Red can only fly Allied planes and Blue Axis ones. Icones are disabled this time!

See you in the sky!

I have been online for almost 5 minutes but it didn't work properly. I think my connection is too slow. I.e if I pull the trigger I had to wait 2 seconds before it react. No fun flying like that. So I'm quite pissed on this computer and that means I won't be able to fly much online. Not this weekend though. I hope you guys have much fun!

Hi all!

Server is running for the Saturday afternoon session.

Combat begins in 1/2 an hour from now on but you can fly reconnaissance if you want. Remember we play on "scenario" (see previous posts) and icones AND outside views are disabled this time...

The server will run approx. for 4 hours! I'll check back here to see if someone is having troubles getting connected.

See you in the skies!

Hi Jean-Luc

I just checked and couldn't see the Armorama game running. I spotted Mal in the lobby, but he didn't seem to be a room.

All the best

Hi Rowan!

We were 4 in the Arena: umustb, Holdfast, Dumbdog and me...
I will restart the arena for you but isn't it again a firewall settings problem?

Sorry Jurjen, but I think Merlin is a real mool! I cruised in a He111 and he passed along quietly without taking notice of me! I think he was to much focused on the beautiful landscape! :-) He is too romantic for a fighter pilot...

LOL! That's not such a bad way to be... - I can live with that!

But I think I should change my IL-2 callsign to Morocco Mole - after Secret Squirrel's short-sighted acomplice!

All the best

Thanks for putting up the server again Jean. Sorry I had to bail when I did. I got a call and had to locate and start reading through insurance papers. Always a favorite past time. NOT!

I had fun while I was in. I love flying those IL2's.

Great game... I think I only managed to destroy 1 AA gun and did a Kamikaze twice on the Allied Hangers... LOL

Hi Jean-Luc, that was what I noticed too... the Armorama room can't be found in the lobby even though the game is running. It's weird...

Cheers,

Great stuff guys, even though I didn't get to blow anyone out of the sky and kept getting zapped by AA, and/or fly to close to the ground after being attacked and "bouncing" into oblivion. I like the "no icons", much more realistic and it makes you have to search the sky. We need more players so there is more chance of spotting someone. We/I also need to co-ordinate better so missions are flown with more flyers, together, also easier to spot.
I had to run away, still got a lot of work to do on my workshop and Telford is getting close.
See you next Friday and possibly Saturday

Hi all!

Unfortunately I won't be able to play next week-end. I will be away for a few days. A good friend of mine became father and I will visit him and his family in Caen. By the same occasion I will go at the Festival de la B.D. (comics!) in Saint-Malo as well.
Anyway, someone else will have to make the server this time! If you want some infos about creating a server, just post a message here. I will be away from Thursday morning (27 oct) until Sunday evening (30 oct).

What a coincidence. I can't play next weekend either, I'm going to a model show in Lahti. Wish me luck.

But it seems like most of us might not be able to take to the skies tonight or tomorrow afternoon... I know I won't be able to fly this weekend...

Philip, you can still try hosting though... and maybe the other guys who can join might post a message here.

Did I hear someone call my name? :-)

I'm back again and I think I will be able to do the server next week-end... two weeks are indeed a (too) long break!!!
I've edited the session hours in the first post because we returned to winter time last week-end. I noticed, apart for Singapore, everybody else switched to winter time (go back one hour)... is that right?

Hi all!

After two weeks without IL2 what about a "Malta" scenario?

Blue (axis) would have only the choice between Me109E4, Ju87B and He111H2 and Red (Allied) Hurricane MkIIb and Buffalo. The German would have to destroy the base on the island while the British would try to protect it.

If you think that idea is good (or not) post a message before tomorrow so we can decide... but I must warn you! With a fighter, you need 10mn to get from the German base to "Malta" island (I tested it) while a Ju87 or He111 would need 15 mn!

This would mean time to elaborate tactics for the German attacker and time to hunt for the British defenders... This would also give more time to the newbies to get used to their machines. This would also make a crash more "painfull" as you would have to start from your base again. I think this could reduce the "kamikaze" attacks we do sometimes knowing we just have to start again on a nearby airfield.

Well, comments welcome...

Yep I like the idea. I have lots to do over the week end but I will try and be there, at least for some of the time.
