Hi guys,
I've finished my StuG IV (1/72) and i kinda ditched the idea of putting it on a base, maybe i'll post pics of it tomorrow.
My DML Sdkfz 251 Ausf D is about 90% done...hopefully by tomorrow.

Wow Psyfool, with the amount of work you obviously did on this ship, im almost hesitant in giving you any suggestions in fear it may wreck how nice it already looks. Great job!
I personally would add some soot on the tip of the turrets when a salvo is fired. Would also probably add a bit of a wash and dry brushing to the buildings to enhance the shadows on it. Im not sure if this can be done at this stage though.
Being out at sea as a combat engineer, i did some basic rigging but never to this level of detail so i probably wont be able to comment much on that.
I too would love to build the Bismark if ever there was a day i could afford the kit. That and the Arizona but ships are so much more expensive and so little room for error.

Jazza, thanx for ur inputs. Prob, I might still be able to add the soot to the tip of the main guns and drybrush a bit here n there.

The only thing stopping me from getting the Bismark straightaway is the lack of storage. My Yamato couldn't fit in any of my display cases so it's collecting dust. I hav to clean it up once in a while.

Hey...Hey...Pysfool.
That's a very good job on your Yamato.
And you have a bismarck? Thinking of starting it soon?
I was about to embark onto the Tirpitze (if I manage to get the photoetch soon) or conversion of the Missouri to Iowa (my favourite US battleship in WW2 due to the camouflage).
Btw, just curious on how long it take for you to complete the Yamato? Because it will be at least a 6 month committment for me if I were to start building a 1:350 scale ship again and I have another 7 waiting for me.
Daniel
Why not you give it a try and the satisfaction is teremendous. I am sure Pysfool would agree with me.

I bought a Nitto Maschinen No.7 Fireball just before I left Singapore for the trip. I was disappointed with how the parts are designed on the mold which will need lots of work to cover up joining lines. Anyway will start building it when I get back.

Psyfool!! That's awesome! Fantastic Yamato! I like the way you did the rigging! You must be very patient... haha. Did you use the "stretching sprue" method?
Man... you even took the time to make the sea-plane at the bow of that ship. Great stuff... would love to see you build a Bismark too! Quickly go find some space... Hmm... what about in the toilet? :-)

Hi Danny... why ditch the idea of putting it on a base? Yep... post some pictures of your builds, then lets discuss ideas... haha..

Hi DAK... I think the hard work of removing those lines & covering up is always a modellers nightmare... Oh well, we've got to live with it..
Do post pictures when you're done with your Fireball..

I hvn't bought the Bismark yet. Still contemplating. As for how long i took to build the Yamato, all in all, i guess I took abt 2months plus. But I can still do some touch up here in there.

Seems like these days, small is beautiful. Seen the influx of 1/144 armor and planes?

I don't know what you guys think, but for me... such small scales really make me "

 ".
I must admit I got fat fingers... :-)
The only Armour in my stash that is smaller than the 1/35 scale is a 1/48. I think that's small enough already.
1/72 and 1/144... I must see pictures!

damn that is small. Talk about skills with a tweezer. Dont have anything smaller than 1:35 in my shelf. I love the amount of detail on the 1:35s hence why i would probably never scale down.
Just a quick update though, the next model thats about to end up on my workbench is the Tamiya Challenger 1 for the Modern Armor Campaign.
Apart from JM, anyone else enlisted in that campaign?

Nice one. We need more Russian representation in the campaign. We currently have a very strong force of Bradleys in this campaign. Top notch modellers like EPI, Gino and Olivier should make for an interesting campaign.

The Morser is looking good, Sir Loin of Beef!
The comparison with the coin... simply fantastic to see such small scale. Great job on the paintwork too... are you planning to weather it?
