Nice work thus far, Paul! I can't really expand on what's been said by the others regarding dealing with the missing fuel tank. It's going to be a rusted out old vehicle, so it would be bound to have some bits of who knows what lying about it that could nicely hide the missing tank.
I've had the MAZ-537 and dio finished for well over a couple of weeks now, but have been tied up with other projects (and fighting off a bout of the plague) and haven't gotten to take any photos or post any updates. I finished the full diorama up but just took photos of it this afternoon. I don't have time to do through and prep them for uploading just now, so I'll post some photos of the finished eight-wheeled monster on it's own.
I finished it all in time to enter it in the local HobbyTown USA in-store contest last Saturday. It won first place in the diorama category and also won Best of Show. That was a real surprise! Since I don't have any photos of the dio to post yet, here's a photo from the Hobbytown Facebook page of the dio at the contest.
Will post my own photos of it as soon as I can.
Cheers,
-Bill

Bill, that's simply awesome!
The truck itself is great, but putting it in correlation with real incidents - especially that way you did it - puts in on another level.
The best of show is well-deserved!
I'm impressed!
Cheers

Hi Pete.
You go for it now. Are you intending to give it that nice rainy shine? I'm wondering how that would look like to your model.
My TA still needs a descent base. Might be an idea
Bill, your model is just outstanding. Very, very nice.
Regards,
RJ

thanks Robert
Yeah I might do that. The car I am basing it on has no seats either, but after the work I saw you do on your Citreon I just had to have a go.

Peter: Your car is looking great. I love what you did with the seats! It give me some ideas on how to treat the seats on the Trabant I have in my stash that has been calling my name to start it.
Thanks to everyone for the kind words on the Monster MAZ. Very much appreciated!
Here (finally) are some photos of the finished diorama. I apologize the the cluttered background of my work desk and questionable lighting. I have a proper light kit, but it's at work for a project and I don't have any other photo space at the moment.
BTW, can someone point me to the campaign gallery where I can post some finished photos? I looked around but couldn't find it.

Thanks, Peter. Very much appreciated! I'm a big fan of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. computer games and sorta got inspired. The diorama title comes from the first game of the series...not too original, but it fits.

Hi all.
I'm going to delete my photos for this campaign, for the time being.
Do not panic, I'm not enlisting. I'll make a overall progress review later. I need the space for my latest projects.
Regards,
RJ

Hi Robert
Shame you need to make space, but as long as we get some more pictures later of your superb Citreon.

Yes, the space limited, that is a shame.

Here is the work I have done on the wee car and base. Not completley happy. it needs some more weathering and it is a little bare.
The really car is in pretty good shape considering it has been there since 1944, but I need to make it look a bit more worn and old looking. A few different shades in the weathering I think.
I don't know what else to put in there, it needs a figure for scale but not keen.

Hey, Pete,
The weathering looks real good in the close up shots. Also maybe put a lamppost on the corner of the pavement. I think it might help break up the space issue a little. Also maybe a scattering of dead leaves might fill the space a bit?
Paul

Hi Pete,
It's been a while, but I just want to react to this campaign.
End of May I'm going to post my final pictures of my build.
June and July I will be offline, non-modeling for some months.
My move to Thailand takes place, at least, first 2 weeks of July.
Regards,
RJ

Hi Robert
Look forward to seeing the final pictures of the Citreon.
I hope your move goes okay, and hope to still see your work on Kitmaker.
Cheers Pete

Thanks Pete.
2 weeks left to finish the modeling business.
I will certainly come back to modeling, Kitmaker just makes the difference. This is the place for me, showing and learning skills to improve.
Nice evening,
Robert Jan

Hello Rusty Scrap fans.
Finals did have a start this morming. I gave myself a 2 weeks timespan to finish the lady. The owner will collect at the end of May, so progress is made to make the final steps.
Thought I'd finish her nose first.
Bonnet will open on one side. So fixation with 2 screws, asome splitts from good old Hansa. Thin CA did the rest. After drying a first paintjob and now, at the end of the day I can open the left side of the bonnet. All stays in shape:p
Most of the work is to get al the left parts in place.
Biggest challenge will be to get the doors in place.
Mondaymorning will be the perfect moment I think
Cheers,
RJ

Hi all.
Very nice weather today in Holland. So I decided to do some outside, on the roof, in the sun, plaster activity
(and painting too). Old Mirror is placed under the TA. This will show some detail from the bottom of the car. When ready it's water, after a shower. Oil and lots of debree will be added next.
However!!! The lady is on her Michelins now, (and she's happy)
Dashboard is installed. Did some further painting. But most of the time I enjoyed the light on the rusty colors.
3 pictures to show the progress.
Added 'lava stones' 'sea grass' 'herbs''sand from the Dutchbeach by Noordwijk' and plaster, which I mentioned already.
I'm gona get me some Grolsch Beer now
Cheers, but still lots to do. so stay tuned.
