I really want a good Oscar on my shelf, but this kit won't be it.
The kits you want are the recent
Hasegawa offerings. Even the ancient
Otaki kit (inaccurate as it may be) went together better than what you're describing.

Hello All,
Hope I am posting this in the correct thread. I will be going with Panther vs T-34 Ukraine 1943. I'll use the Dragon Panther D Premium kit for the Panther and the Dragon T-34/76 Mod 1942 Smart Kit. Both will be pretty close to out of the box builds.

Regards,
Rod

Rod,
You're in the right place, welcome aboard! I plan to do this very combination some day, so I look forward to your build!

a little update...
the hurricane is going well, should be painting the camo this weekend.
the ME 110 is a little behind as it needed alot of filler and sanding.

@Jessica Yeah I think so too. I did Hase 1/48 Val for the Midway campaign. It could have been a little better but that was more from mistakes I made rather than the kit. It did have a fancy rear gun setup which I didnt like and the cockpit was one of those where you build it like a pod and then insert it into the two fuse halves. I don't often like that idea as it seems to create fit issues. But it was a good kit. I have just about finished a Hase 1/72 190D and it was a dream to build and half way through one of their big 1/48 Veritech mecha kits which I had to get from Japan as no one carries them here and I can't remember building a kit that has gone together better. So I am a fan of Hasegawa and I will be picking up one of their Oscars as soon as possible,

Nice work out there! Aaron, sorry to hear about your problems with the Oscar, I've heard some of those issues with Fine Molds kits, particularly the older ones. Paul, great progress, even the 110 is looking like you're bashing it into shape.
Here's some more movement on the Wingnut Albatros DV:

Once I got the engine mounted and got the fuselage halves together to check alignment, there are so many things to line up I figured I'd better get it glued together, so no pics of the inside. Sorry about that. But it is going together well now!

Ok got started on mine. Started with the T-34. Kit is sure going toghter quickly, some how I don't think the Panther will be as quick a build. Here are some photo's of my progress on the T-34.

No real problems with the kit so far, I like the look of the magic tracks.
Hopefully more later this week.
Regards,
Rod

Well folks I made a start on some sub-assemblies on the Zero tonight. The fit is very good so far, but the plastic seems quite soft so I will need to take a bit more care than my usual fumbling efforts. Nothing worth posting pictures of just yet, I'll save that until I get some colour thrown at it !
Cheers, D

Hi D, just picked up the Osprey book for our duel, interesting read.
The Seafire F.III is out of the pile and now joined the end of the queue, a couple of 1/144's standing in the way first.

Nice details on that Albatros, Michael! Really nice painting.
My Fw 190 is actually beginning to look like a plane. This old Fujimi kit is very nice and goes together well. Some extra detail in the cockpit and new wheels helps a lot though.
More to follow. Sean, watch your six

A little progress on my Fw 190A-8. I have used parts from Eduard Fw 190 to spice up the old Fujimi kit.
I am building the Fw 190 with the Snake marking down the side. It will be cool looking.
More to follow later.

Nice progress, Aaron. I like the weathering of the markings. Looking forward to see more.
I have gotten the decals on on my Fw 190A-7. Really satisfied with those snake markings. Next is the weathering and an aerial and then it is finished.
Sean, start checking your six.

More to follow soon.

Very nice, Jesper. Paint and decals look perfect. Don't get too comfortable though-- the sky may be yours for now, but when you least expect it...

Howdy Y'all
Aaron: Looking Good; still have the same opinion of the Fine Molds kit? I ask because I'm wondering if I should get the Hasegawa kit someday and use the Fine Molds decals. Also, how did you get that color?
Y'all take care,

I have now finished my Fujimi 1/48 Fw 190A-7.
I added some extra Eduard Fw 190 parts to add some detail on the cockpit and the landing gear. In these areas the age of the Fujimi kit is showing. However, The overall fit and dimensions on the Fujimi kit seems very good and it was a pleasure to build.
Comments welcome.
It will be great to follow the many duels in this campaign.
