Bob

Finishing up the steampunk tank today if I'm lucky, still rehabbing two Tonka trucks for my son for Christmas{mighty twim boom wrecker and a steam roller} then I'm back here full time...don't write me off yet!

Hermon...bridges won't be your friends!

I love the work everybody is doing so far....some really creative processes going on here...keep it up folks!

OOOOOOOOHH! BOB, you really did not destroy you sons Tonka that is against all the rules in Texas. DONT MESS WITH A KIDS TONKA TRUCK!

I can remember when they were made of metal and they lasted for years. Bought my son one (plastic) in the early 1980', lasted one season

Dude, I have 8 wheel drive with floatation tires. Who needs a stinkin' bridge?

Randy, that bike is just sick. I wanna try the wood form and heat gun thing when I have more time.....like 20 years from now. Really nice work man.

Unfortunatly I won't be getting any bench time this weekend. I have about 600 ft of fence to build on the front pasture saturday and another 5 to 7 thousand to build or repair over this winter. Living on a working farm is great except that I also have a full time job in the city as well.

Bob I have an idea we should let Hermon test out any bridges to know if it is safe for the rest to follow. What do ya think

Hope everyone is all ready for Christmas!!!

Bob, Thank you and whats this about a steampunk tank!
Need info and pics!!!

Thanks , Hermon, I don't think you even need a road or a bridge in that beast!!

Adam, Thank you!!

Thank you Alexander

Some progress to report...

Finishing up the electrical sysstem. Also throttle cables and will use the kit supplied radiator as it is good casting....

Finally made up my mind on the fuel system, going with one tank for bio fuel and then adding external boost cannisters for that extra kick needed to get out of trouble till you boys can come to the rescue!!!....

fuel tank....

Almost ready to start building some GUNS!!

Randy

HEY! Everyone I finished my tax class project and passed, so with burning eyes and a killer headache I worked on "WENDY" and actually enjoyed myself dispite the adversity. Photos after the study session for my two other classes (ACCOUNTING YUUUUCKY)

Tomorrow is another day and I plan to play for the rest of this one. Here are (3) photos and I hope that I can explain my madness.

1. put Squadron Green Putty on all seams and chips to cleanup the form after sanding.
Photobucket

2. this view of the weapns platform is upside down, you may be able to see the former inside that will lay on the top of the vehicle body (look at the drawing)
Photobucket

3. weapons platform is rightside up and again you may be able to see the pencil line going from former to the platform, below the line the area will be removed (look at the drawing to see the cruve of the platform) and will sit on the body.
Photobucket

My headache went away and I played some more. Well it did not turn out quite as I had imagined but here is what I will have to work with on that weapons platform

It looks like a lot of putty and sanding will remedy the gaps then on to the bogies, drive wheels, idlers, and tracks.

Hey Bob, Wendy is coming together well so far, I'm looking forward to progress there.

I'm still plodding along with my build, in between other campaign builds I've managed to get some paint thrown at it.

Thanks Bob. The bottle cap is from one of our local beers, I use them as a CA dispenser. I just push the top down to make a "cup", put in a couple of drops of thin CA, then use a toothpick to transfer a drop or two to where it's needed.

Damian, I used a prescription pill bottle cap to use for mixing Squadron Green Putty and liquid glue what a mess, the next time I post a photo you will be able to see the circle that was eaten off of my cutting board

Bob, for some reason Wendy reminds me of one of those tanks from the original TRON movie. Looking good my man.

D, she looks even better with paint on. That flamer cannon is just freakin' sick man.
