It's been a couple of months since Korean firm Legend Productions announced any new releases - they are now back announcing a new release per series.

The latest release from Monroe Perdu is an extremely versatile kit "The Sunken Road". This kit builds into a vignette to depict almost anywhere in the world you can think of. A rutted lane in Normandy, a washed out trek in North Africa, a wagon path in Italy, or a carved trail in the jungle of Vietnam are all possibilities with this kit.

Armorama is approaching a milestone mark in it's evolution. The server has processed over 1,400,000,000 individual requests (hits) for April already. This will exceed the highest traffic level recorded in January (ussually a seasonally busy time), and bust the 1.5 billion mark almost certainly. A request is a unique file or image that is requested by a remote host or user.
This year (2005) Osprey is bringing back almost all of it's Out of Print titles. February 2005 saw the arrival of the first batch of previously unavailable titles, and a second batch will be available from April 10, 2005.

Monroe Perdu finally has limited quantities of it's latest and largest kit, MPD-031 Northern Italian Church. If you were able to attend the recent SCAHMS show, you saw the painted test shot and the first few kits for sale. The kit is imposing, measuring 13" tall and 13" square on the base.

135th Construction Battalion continues it's trend of roof items (last month we saw drains, pipes, and a chimney). This month we have more gutter and drains, but also a beautiful European Clock Dormer (CO0099). This large resin piece by Ben Jakobsen, includes a seperate clock face and a single resin part that has the clock hands ready to cut out.
These new items from Custom Dioramics are definately unique. They include a set of park benches, a donkey, an Orthodox Priest, and a public shower. All in 1:35 scale

One event dominating the hobby industry in February is Spielwarenmesse 2005. The largest annual toy and hobby fair in the world, the 56th Nuremberg Toy Fair gathers 2,700 toy and hobby item manufacturers representing over 62 countries. In addition to the 135th Construction Battalion pieces, VLS has also released 2 additional diorama detail items this month through it's Custom Dioramics division. Both are the work of Ben Jakobsen.
135th CONSTRUCTION BATTALION, a VLS Creations Company, has released some interesting new building upgrades. They include a pillared balcony, a smoke stack (chimney), and 2 drain and plumbing fixtures sets. The creations are the work of Ben Jakobsen of Canada. Ben joined VLS in 2002 and has bee churning out good stuff like this since.

In my first news story of the new year, it seems appropriate to cover the new releses of a company which has influenced many modellers, sculptors and designers - Verlinden Productions. While many companies seem to have fallen by the wayside, Verlinden is still there, bringing out new releases on a monthly basis...

Due to the sheer volume of releases from Verlinden Productions their new releases will now be seperated into their respective categories - Armor, Figures, Aviation and Dioramas. The latter is the subject of this news story...
The Australian company Firestorm Modelscontinues to produce some attractive (and Useful) material for the figure, diorama and armor modeller. These are the new releases for the Diorama modeller.
Toro models is a relatively new Spanish producer of figures and diorama accessories in 1/35th scale. Earlier this year, they released their first figure in 1/35th scale and followed it up with some attractive buildings in the same scale.
We're continuing to expand our line of Colourcoats enamels, and have received a number of new colours.
The biggest Russian model manufacturer Zvezda has released 3 new model kits! The first 2 releases are armor in 1/35th scale:
Once again, Tamiya has release it's new items in the modeling world. The release consist of 4 new kits and 7 limited release. 2 for Motorcycle Series and 5 for Military Miniatures Series.
Armorama.com recently passed the thirty-million mark for pages viewed on the site. This comes just short of the sites 3 year anniversary which will be on December 16th of this year. The success of the site is almost certainly due to the contributions of its members and staff who always seem to go out of their way to welcome and support the new members that are signing up daily.
Once again, Verlinden brings us its usual generous crop of new releases - once again covering figures, armor, aviation, ships and dioramas.

I must admit to be a little puzzled over these new releases - they are marked on the website as 'October' releases whereas in fact they are for December...
