Armorama is approaching a milestone mark in it's evolution. The server has processed over 1,400,000,000 individual requests (hits) for April already. This will exceed the highest traffic level recorded in January (ussually a seasonally busy time), and bust the 1.5 billion mark almost certainly. A request is a unique file or image that is requested by a remote host or user.
Our technical team will be working on ways to offset this growth and try to improve the speed of the site. This will likely mean some elements or areas of the site are "cached" so that pages load faster and less interaction with the database is required. Armorama's server, a dual Xeon 2.4Ghz PC, is more than powerful enough to handle this additional traffic, but making these improvements will ensure that additional growth is not going to slow the site down.

We ask that users experiencing any serious slow downs remember that a "dial up" focus/theme is available in your My Account configuration area. This theme has fewer graphics and is more streamlined.
