I know it's not the fault of the site that Gray did this, but I think they owe the cheated members some moral responsibility as I'm sure people felt more trusting towrds this guy because he was a staffer.

Since he also sold on other sites, do we then assume a 'moral responsability' there as well? I'm sorry, but I can't understand the logic of your argument..Jim

Another reason that doesn´t support your arguement is that when my deal fell through, I was staff and Bryan was an ordinary member. He played his roll well, got in, and got trusted.

This whole escapade has been happening for some time, long before Bryan became a member of staff here. But only recently has it really blown open.
There were some earlier reports/questions on ML, but his "name", respect and a couple of make-good claims, carried him over it.
This time, too many have been ripped-off and those who thought they had a friendship built up and trusted him, have been cheated also.
It all sounds like the work of a con-artist to me.

holy carp!!! there i though i was the only one that had been burned in a deal with this guy. of course i have no way to get my money back from him as i mailed cash ($110.00) to speed up the deal and make things easier on bryan. then the excuses of the poor service from canadian mail and "lost" in the mail; were soon to follow from his mouth. then he promised to send another kit in place of the "lost" funds.

never recieved it either.

something should be done...i dont know what, but something to hit him where it hurts
this all happened months and months ago, since then i havent spent another dime on this hobby because money is now tighter than ever. driving 100 miles to and from work everyday hasent gotten any cheaper either.

here's a quote from the last note he sent... "Kevin,
I am still holding out hope that it will arrive. I really really dont want to see you lose out. I am going to hold onto it for now and see what happens. Its a harsh lesson my friend and one I hope we can avoid at all costs.
Cheers,
Bryan "

cheers...yeah right...you lowlife scum-sucking bottom feeding embarassment to mankind.

i work damn hard for every dollar i get. i have four kids to feed and even though both my wife and i have fulltime jobs, even with two incomes we qualify for some assistance from the government and are openly recieving small amout of help they provide.

i blame myself for this stupid mistake and believe me it wont ever happen again.

like someone said earlier..."wheres theres smoke, theres fire"
ITS TIME TO CALL THE FIRE DEPARTMENT AND SOAK DOWN THE FLAMES ON THIS ONE.

and to you bryan, when you read this...i hope you sleep well at night.

kevin

also, thanks for the link to the royal mounted police. i left an inquiry to them about bryan.

EDIT: here's the response from the RCMP...
Kevin,

If you think a crime has been committed, please contact your local police
service and report it to them.

and, i'm a not too distant Canadian myself. There's a township named Glackmeyer. I hold no blame for this on Canada or their wonderful citizens.

cheers,

I think I would like that address again. So I may turn it over to the authorities here. It may come to nothing, but perhaps it will stat the ball rolling. Thank you Erik for the link to the RCMP

As was said already.PLEASE don't paint us (Canadians) all with the same
brush. Not that I think anyone here would. And Canada Post "is" slow but I have
always got my packages and so have the people I've sent stuff to.

As for Mr.Grey, well I've not dealt with him but I think if all this is true he
better run and hide under the nearest rock.

I too have been taken on a buy (not from anyone here) so I know how you all feel.

My 2.5 cents.

Well, what can I say? I know what I'd like to say and do but I can't say it here.

First of all I must say that this problem has nothing to do with Armorama but I must admit that I trusted the guy that bit more because he'd been a member for a long while and was a staff member at the time I dealt with him.
He answered a post saying he had a Poste Militaire Mounted Samurai. I bought it from him for $120 inc post and package. He said he sent it on the 19 July this year and that it was overland to save money. Delivery time 6 to 10 weeks.
It never arrived. Yes he answered my PMs quickly and even mentioned refunds but it now seems it was all rubbish.
I thought I'd be fair with him at the time and said to leave it a bit longer, just in case it turned up.

He must have been laughing all the way to the bank and I feel very angry with myself for falling for his scam.

Surely this has got to be fraud and illegal. I'm sure the Canadian authorities would like to know about it.

Canadian post may be bad but not so many times as has happened in this thread.

Saying I'm p***ed off and frustrated is putting it very politely.

I couldn't afford it and shouldn't have spent that money on the figure in the first place but it is one I really wanted, getting ripped off as well just rubs salt into the wounds.

I've PMed him last week and heard nothing back

If this is all true which it must be, I wish him the worst.

Hello all. Well i guess alot of people learnt a COSTLY lesson. My sympathy goes out to all of you who were conned, and those who were happy with his service thank yourselves lucky!!
I have a question though...if nothing is done about 'Bogus' Brian (excuse the pun please) what is going to stop him selling things under another name via ebay or the alike?
What a scary thought!!
Best of luck to those who were duped.

well ok just add one guy in the list . Ordered some bases for figures and 2 figures kits. Send the money on 31 of March and till start of October i was waiting having all intermidiate convertations that the stuff has been send at the start of April but was lost . Also the post paper was lost. Then the stuff was remade ( the bases) and resend but this was also lost . Then sometime the original pack was back in Canada and about to be resend ...anyway....finally i got part of my money back , so i guess i could call my self lucky ?

Anyway have been doing many kinds of transactions through Armorama members all this time and NEVER had a Problem. And this specific person will definately NOT make my loose my faith in the family . We just need to be some carefull thats all .

I to bought a kit from Byran back in January of this year. even payed Via Pay-pal, which is good since they record the payment. I never recieved it. I thought that it was possible that it got lost in the mail, since I was stationed overseas and the Government sometimes doe lose stuff. However know that this thread is out, I feel really pissed off. You know there are certain circumstances for some things... IE depolyments and certain commitments. But this is rediculous. I believe I will call Pay-Pal and see if I can find some things out......

Good luck with that. PayPal won't even look at your complaint if it is older than 45 days.

Please refrain from posting inflammatory comments. I still want to keep this thread open for members to update the site with any changes in their situation.

Fredrik is also a registered member here.
I spoke with him last night about this at our club meeting. He has already had quite a few enquiries from modellers who have been ripped off. If anybody here wants this information, PM me and I can get it from Fredrik and pass it on. It cant do any harm to get as many reports in as possible.

I reported him to the Canadian authorities, as represented by the link given. That was nearly three weeks ago and I have nothing since. I certainly hope something is going on behind the scenes. I think we need as many people as possible to file complaints.

I have reported Mr. Gray as well. Did it by phone and the lady I talked to was very helpful. I e-mailed all documents on the transaction and sent a link to this topic as well. Hopefully the Canadian authorities will react.

Ahhhh - you're in luck - Cuban cigars aren't illegal in Canada. File away! Although you may run into some duty issues - Canada customs loves to take their cut!

Hi guy's
As an outsider, I can only offer my support and hope that the authorities chase down this chap and enforce the appropriate penalties. There are far too many folk in this blessed world with little moral substance and who are more than willing to take advantage of the trusting and honest folk. If these people are dealt with effectively, others may think before they try it on.

You can refuse to sign for a registered letter or package so that is likely what was done. In fact you can refuse delivery of any package and tell the post office to return it to sender. This doesn't mean the address is wrong it probably means he is avoiding the letter. If I was him and I caused this much fuss I doubt I would be signing for letters since my guess is he would be pretty sure what the contents are.

From the volume of complaints I am seeing on various sites he stiffed a lot of people for serious amounts of cash but I can honesty say you have little chance of recovering that money given that he doesn't reside in the same province or country. Words out in a big way now and I seriously doubt he is going to be able to do any model business. I am just glad I never bought from him (I didn't even know he was selling).

I guess never buying anything that isn't signature required for delivery and tracked isn't such a bad thing after all. Also package insurance is cheap and any reputable trader/dealer would offer it. If they don't offer it ask for it. It's buyer beware for a reason...
