exscuse me lads for butting in here . ive read the post and feel for you guys ive bought off ebay and never got ripped off. i dont know if anyone agrees with this but if people want to sell or buy from guys o here why dont we have a middleman???? you send the money to a member who then tells the seller to post the stuff when you get it he sends on the cash, no money no kit ,no kit no money just an idea . only extra charge is a stamp to post on yer money order
Very simply as this is NOT the purpose of the site, nor do we have the time to get involved in time-consuming exercises like this. This has been suggested before, and rejected immediately. It is neither practical nor desirable...Jim

While I agree that this is not the object of Armorama and would be too time consuming for this site or it's staff, in general it sounds like a good and safer idea.
If members wanted to sort something out amongst themselves if they feel the need. A buyer and seller could ask for a volanteer or a friend to be the third party.
At the end of the day though there's always an element of risk.
Having said that looking at the amount of transactions that go on on this forum and the fact that this is the only thread of it's type, it seems that

Gray is a very small minority.
I still want my $120 back Mr. Gray (Just in case :-) )
Oh Yeh, BTW I forgot to tell you one of his other excuses he gave me was that he couldn't look into the delay straight away as he was in Baghdad

 Vic,
In one of my many PM's I had w/Bryan over the whearabouts of my package ...that was never sent

he told me that he was going over to Iraq for a week in August, I believe. He never made it public on this forum though, which I found to be rather odd. I can't say that he was actually over there - just that he told me he was going there.
As for the "risk" factor involved with trading I have never been ripped off by anyone ever except by Bryan. Bryan is an exception to every incident I have seen over the years involving multiple people getting ripped off by the same person in that he was "within the community" and not some faceless stranger who just made off with a bunch of people's money and kits. Many people from different forums have been affected as well, not just the ones who posted here.
Everytime I see this thread perpetuate itself with yet another person's misfortunes I feel nauseous as I am reminded of how he was the one who brought me here and now here I am and it turns out he is not the person I thought he was...I feel ashamed to have been associated with him in a sense and it hurts.

Aren't we beating a dead horse with this thread?

No I don't think so. I will never be able to get my hands on the guy as I'm sure many of us would love to. I don't think I or any of us will see any more money back. It's the fact that you can't do anything about it but vent your anger here that keeps it going.
I'm just waiting for the day when I read someone, authorities or not have caught up with him.

I know there was someone on this site that lived close to Bryan. Just curious if they have had any contact with him since all of this started, and if so, what was his reaction. I have made a couple of goofs when selling kits and felt really bad about it. I promptly refunded the sent money plus shipping and then smacked myslef for not checking things better. I can't fathom how I would feel if I were the one who has taken $1000's of dollars of other peoples money. Yes 1000's. Check some of the other sites. Bryans name is all over them with the same story about poor Canadian Post service. I would echo the suggestion to see it thru to the end as well. Don't let him get off by shrugging our collective shoulders and chalking it up to experience. Okay, I'm beginning to rant. Hope it works out for all involved. "Q"

I feel for all you guys that got ripped off, and think that Mr. Gray owes everyone an explanation and some money or kits. Aren't we beating a dead horse with this thread?

I think this thread provides several valuable services:
1. It informs the modeling public not to conduct business with this person in the future.
2. It allows anyone who has been cheated a forum to vent.
3. It allows those people to update the modeling community on the current status. This gives others hope that he may make good with them.
4. It gives folks a heads up that the bad post service may just be a bad line.

After waiting for a year now and still I haven't received my kits.
Now it's time for me to tell my story, because he isn't answering my e-mails anymore.
I've bought a couple of kits from him this year and it's a large amount of money we're talking about.
He also told me that the Canadian Post was the real problem and they were investigating the post office he normally "used", because he told me that were more people that had problems with that PO.
The story was so strange that I thought someone with a normal mind couldn't make up such a story, Oh I was wrong.
He also told me the story about him leaving to Iraq.
But now almost a year later there's still no sign of the package and I don't think it will arrive either.
So Bryan when you're reading this you know where you can PayPal the money to!!!

That would be me. I have not had contact with Bryan since all of this went down. I only dealt with him once, in person obviously, since we live in the same city. At the time, I asked him if he was a member of IPMS Ottawa, and he said no. He mentioned to me another group of armor modellers in the city that he belongs to, but I am not a member there.
I do not have his home phone number, nor do I know where he lives. All I know is that he lives in the Orleans area of Ottawa. There are no Bryan Gray's or B Gray's in the phonebook in that region of the city, so he either has an unlisted number, or the phone is not in his name.
The only contact info I have for the guy is his email address, which all of you have as well.
Sorry, but I can't help.

Whoohoo my money has been refunded
I hope everyone who still hasn't received anything will hear from Bryan soon.
I could understand that he isn't able to refund everyone at the same time....
There is still hope!

Bryan I don't know if you're reading this, but I'd like to know what your new e-mailaddress is?
Are there only 2 people who have got their money back, or are there more?
I'm still waiting for my money and because it's almost Christmas you can pay me back monthly.

I cant say I know the guy, but a few months back I started a thread asking if anyone knew where I could fine some Maskol online. Out of the blue he mails me a big bottle of it! I never asked him for it, and he refused to accept payment.
I hope all the accusations against him turn out to be a big misunderstanding because he seemed like a nice guy on top of being an incredible talent.
HOWEVER, he can feel free to stop blaming Canada Post for everything. Some people thinks its the easiest way out by blaming the posties. Sounds to me like its the old "Checks in the mail" excuse.

I don't think it was a big misunderstanding as there are too many folk and a lot of dollars involved for it to be a 'misunderstanding'.
I am glad you got your maskol at the right price but all me and a lot of other folk want is our money back. I don't want to hear what a marvelous Tank modeler he is, I just want to know like all the others WHEN AM I TO GET THE MONEY BACK HE STOLD FROM ME!

Perhaps the "select few" were ones who also submitted police reports or some sort of formal complaint to the authorities.

I know there are some guys who've got their money back, but I'd like to know if there are more who got their well earned cash back.
I've also reported the crime with the RCMP, but I haven't received anything yet.

Be careful about entering into an agreement to work out a "payment plan." I'm not sure how it would work else where, but here in Ohio, if you decide to work something out, such as a monthly payment plan, you essentially make the situation a "civil matter," meaning you enter into an agreement without taking that matter to court. This basically eliminates your right to file criminal charges in the future, even if you don't get all your money back. I would accept payment in full, or pursue another course of action such as filing charges if possible. I was fortunate enough to get my money back, but again, I believe that had more to do with telling Bryan what I do for a living than anything else. Good luck guys.

Maybe under the ex-royal personna. My money is that he's lurking and watching these posts, maybe to figure out who's most likely to cause problems for him so they can get a refund.
EDIT
Me, i'm still waiting for my money, even after filing complaints with the RCMP and the FBI
