Knowing that i have u and friends by my side quitting is not an option for me..

Costas

Yaaay! It's good that you decided not to quit.

Although I live in the Philippines, I can send you some extra kits if you want. Just ask and I'll see what I can spare.

Hi Costas,

I'm sorry to see that disaster has happened upon you.

Most important thing is that you and your family came out of this tragedy unharmed (well physically, that is, I'm sure it is quite distressing).

I don't even want to think about what a modeller can build up in equipment in a space of a couple years.

I hope you get back up to full speed soon and if there's something you need help with let me (us) know.

Hi there Costas. I know you don't know me but I just thought I could share my, almost, similar experience with you. I was born and raised in Lebanon and we lost our home there during the war and I lost all my modelling stuff I had as a kid. I went to the States and over 10 years I had accumulated some models and paints ans stuff. Then a family crisi made me move to Egypt to help my father in time of need, so I left all my modelling stuff with my sister, thinking that she could ship it to me later. But I later found out that she needed to move, so she sold all my stuff at some flea market or something like that. Now, after being in Egypt for 10 years, I'm in a position(financially) to start bying stuff and to get back into modelling.
Sorry for the long story, but I just wanted to tell you that a person can always make new beginings, provided that person does not lose the will to fight back. So that's the important thing. You and your family are ok. So, what you were able to build for yourself once.. you can rebuild again. Just don't lose heart. And I'm willing to help out in any way I can. Just let me know.

Sorry to here about your terrible loss Costas. I'm glad no one was injured but I know you must be suffering something we all hope we never do. The loss of our personal little space and sactuary. Whether its large or small our work area is our little place to get away from the pressures of eveyday life and create something. If there is anything you need or I can do to help please feel free to contact me. Costas, think of the Phoenix who rose from the ashes to become big and beatiful. You can do it too!

Hi Costas

So sorry to hear (and see) your loss, still as others have said, I thank the One above for only property damage.

Well just fitted a smoke detector (and checked the insurance), as my ‘hobby room’ is right next to my family’s bedrooms.

I’ll need your address as I have a LOT of spare tools and words alone won’t get ‘ding ding’ back on track!

Oh dear Costas,
very bad news. ...very sad.
At least no one got hurt, especially your little girl.

I know you are down in the dumps as would be expected, loosing everything, but don't give up...you've still got your eye, hands and expertise.
In a little time you'll start re-building.
Besides your contributions to the site and all your friends here would be too great a loss.

Take your time but come on back.
You know already we are all here for you and if there's anything anyone can do you know we'll all help best we can.

Chin up
Best wishes.

Costas,
First let me say im happy no one was hurt and your daughter is OK.
I have some spare tools and supplies I would be happy to send to you. In the face of disaster a little normalcy can be very therapeutic and modeling can help you relax a bit and take your mind off the fire.
So please PM me your address and I will get a little care package together for ya Also include the types of models you like to build i.e German, allied ww2 modern etc so I can include a kit to help you get your stash back
Cheers,
Bryan

Costas,
I'm very sorry to hear about this. The best thing is that no one was injured.
I am glad to see that you've had some time to reconsider leaving the hobby. It just goes to show that when you take a little time to stap back from any problem, it's possible to get a new and better perspective on it.
On the good side, I'm impressed with the compassion and generosity that I'm seeing here within our modeling family. What a great bunch of people we have here. Makes me proud to be a part of this community.
If there is anything I can do to help you out, let me know.
If you need to see any positive results from this accident, now you can build an even better modeling area
Good luck,
Craig

Dear MG,

I don't "know" you like it sounds like some others do, but we are all one gang at Armoraman. I'm glad no one was injured.

I, too, would like to ship you a box of stuff to reseed your hobby and talent. Please let me know what you like. I'm long on scenery materials, because that's what I like to do, but I have kits I'll never get to as well. Also, I would like to send you some seed money to let you get what you want. So, pm me your address and reconfirm it is Euros in your country.

Sealhead

P.s. Oh, yes, there is something you can do for me in return. When you are able, help two other people with random acts of kindness.

Just a thought that came into my mind.. remembered it from when I was in Lebanon during the war and we would help someone who had lost his home or something like that. Someone would keep a list of what people were contributing so that you wouldn't end up with too many duplicates of one thing and possibly none at all of another. I don't know if that could be done in this case, but I just thought I'd menrion the idea. Also if you could PM me with your adr. (if you like) and I will see what I can contribute. If it wasn't for God sending people my way to help me out in the past I probably wouldn't be where I am now. So I'd like to pay back even a small part of that.

I'm glad you and your family are safe and still with us! And I will pray for your comforting. After you get over this terrible shock, it will take very few tools to get you started modeling again. And you have like 5,000 friends here at Armorama to help you get back on your feet again. You are not alone in these times Costas, your friends are here for you!

Best wishes,

Garry

Costas, I just now saw this thread. I'm so sorry for the stuff you lost. I know it's a set back, but, as the adage goes, you have to jump back on the horse. I know you're thankful, as your friends here are, that no one was hurt. It also looks like the building did not sustain any structural damage so there's hope to start over.
