Thats a good point brought up by Alex .. but when you think about it,its always modern times which cause the zombie problem ..i guess mainly cause now we have the technology to make a virus which turns humans into dead head munchies .
I guess back in WW2 some mad nazi doctor could have come up with a zombie virus.
Me i'll stick to the modern side of things ..dont have any dead WW2 models which are kaput ,only lots of modern ones
Oh by the way ..Thanks for the kind words Alex mate .. and i have been thinking about smoke launchers and lucky me i have a heap of those from modern armour i have only used as parts ,,ya i think i'll throw some on it and if you think this one is nasty wait for No2 ..its seriously nasty compared to this one

Damian, Nah these Panzer Jockey zekes aren't just the mindless zombies resurrected from the throngs of war dead. I was thinking more along the lines of sentient zombies.
Conversely you could have the experiment/ritual result in a more traditional zombie plague that draws the Axis and Allies together to try to contain it.
Phill, putting it in the WW2 era opens up opportunities to use some of those Nazi Occult and experiment scenarios. Plus you can pull a Turtledove and revise history into historical-fiction.
Anyway, I'm probably over-thinking the light thing too much. But if you have the launchers they'd look pretty sharp mounted along the roof.

Alex ...The smoke launchers is a good idea and it will give the truck that little bit extra which is totally fine with me .
I know what you mean about the lights,,and you have me thinking about those now damn it
I have a few ideas so i will let them simmer for a bit and then see how it goes .
Even tho i might not be a fan towards a WW2 zombie the ideas a cool one,the hard part would be making a 35th scale zombie ,,well for me anyway

.
Hell having a US and German soldier fighting side by side with others would be different thats for sure and i do want to see that ..so please someone go for it.
I've already gotten the machine that will be the bases for No2 ..its gonna be mean

Phill: I approve. Great work. My only additional comment would be a giant trash can next to each of the miniguns to manage the spent brass and links, probably a largish hose coming off the bottom, opposite the ammo feed side, and emptying into the trash can. Might limit the swing arm though... Or you could just kick it outside and skip the re-loading. Anyway, this thing looks awesome and I look forward to the painting.
Damian: Nice work. Can't wait to see it come together.

Zon ,,its a good idea dude but with the amount of trouble i had trying to get those damn ammo feed belts to bend it just about drove me totally nuts so i am going to do it like alot of others do it today ..just let the shells and links hit the floor and clean it up when your done,,same way i did in the army and it takes up a lot less space ,,by the way empty sand bags are great for putting all the shells and links in

.
In machine No2 for EOD2 that tho will work cause that thing is gonna be a lot bigger

Progress so far. Basically an M35, the rear body is plastic card with an upturned truck bed as the roof/upper sides to illustrate the 'home brew' nature of these trucks. I won't be cleaning up edges etc so that they look flame-cut. Armament is the mortar in the roof and a .50 with home-made mount. Colour will be a concrete grey/brown camo.
Still to do - wheel protector bars, rear with door, front end (still to decide on bar armour/ sheet steel / combination)

Thanks Phill
Old is what I was after - if this scenario really happened I figured that the survivors would have to raid depots and museums; and modify what they could find. There would be very little newbuild material available.

You couldnt be more right Dave ,,its a hunters world now and if you can find it then you gotta hunt ,steal and forget borrow .
My next machine is driving me nuts ,,to be honest i can't wait for this campaign to end so i can start on number two
I keep getting ideas for the bloody thing and i am going to build it to the extreme ,,complete with fully detailed engines and crew quarters but unlike our other machines where its build what you can find this one is totally different ..much time and skill was used to build this and it was built by pro's ,,ex military prototype will be the reason for its existence,,in real life this thing would do its job rather well i think
Course i aint gonna tell ya bugger all else about it ..where would the fun be if i did

Great work guys. Good to see alot of these projects coming together as this campaign enters the home stretch.
I'm looking forward to End of Days 2. I am settling on doing something darker this time around, with the emphasis on the "end" part. I've got some ideas for the baddies. I probably will go with mankind's oldest and most dangerous foe...but with a twist.
And I always have backup plans.
