As there are stories all over the forums of the various releases announced at Nuremeberg, the idea of this story is to summarize (with the help of the lists produced by (I.P.M.S. Deutschland) the new releases in Warships, Aviation and Armor. What I will be doing is creating a list of some of the genuinely NEW items.. Looking at some manufacturers lists, I really wonder if they have any pride left....

I will not be covering DML (armor), or Italeri (warships or Armor) as these have been adequately covered in the News section....

One event dominating the hobby industry in February is Spielwarenmesse 2005. The largest annual toy and hobby fair in the world, the 56th Nuremberg Toy Fair gathers 2,700 toy and hobby item manufacturers representing over 62 countries. The show closes tomorrow, so the news are still coming in. Here a short summary of what we've heard so far.

Armorama.com recently passed the thirty-million mark for pages viewed on the site. This comes just short of the sites 3 year anniversary which will be on December 16th of this year. The success of the site is almost certainly due to the contributions of its members and staff who always seem to go out of their way to welcome and support the new members that are signing up daily.

A new company to me, these are the first four releases from Toro Models.....
More than five million aerial photographs of World War II are to be made publicly available on the internet.

The pictures will go online on Monday. Taken by the RAF, they were used by Allied commanders to help devise their strategy during the six-year conflict.
Hidden and Dangerous, released by Illusion Softworks in 1999, will soon have a followup, Hidden & Dangerous 2. While not available world-wide this new game looks to have some amazing rendered graphics and unique gameplay.

The Plasticmodeller's clubs KPM Brno and DDM Junior Brno held their annual exhibition on June, 7th 2003 in the Technical Museum Brno/CZ.
After 35 years of service for the United States and countless other countries, the remainder of the F-4 fleet owned by the US Navy will soon be mothballed.
Computer and video game publisher Gathering, a subsidiary of Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. (NASDAQ - TTWO), and developer Illusion Softworks in association with development team Pterodon, announced that VIETCONG for the PC has shipped.

VIETCONG, an intense first-person shooter with tactical elements set in the Vietnam War, is now available in stores nationwide and will be available in Europe on April 11th. "VIETCONG transports players to the South East Asian battleground through stunning graphics, intense sound effects and complex missions," said Kelly Sumner, President of Gathering. "This action-packed title will have players riveted as they navigate the varied terrain and constant threat of the jungle war zone."

Graham Lawler has just opened a company called EXTRA DETAIL. It will offer a complete range of printed model accessories in most scales. EXTRA DETAIL specializes in military modeling 1/87, 1/72, 1/35 and 120mm, and includes items from WWI to present day. They will also be introducing (very shortly) a section that specializes in 1:24 rally car accessories and also Model Railway signage, which will definitely be something to look out for in the coming months.
