Thanks for the infos! On my Macs, when I do a screen capture, I hear a camera sound to notify me the picture was taken... is it the same on PC?

Hi Jean-Luc!!

Sorry.. no such "snap" sound when you do a PrtSc on XP. Yea.. the wonders of machinery (computers)..

Oh.. BTW.. as you guys know.. i'm a little new here.. what does:

- Vector:
- Height

mean?? they keep poping out while flying.. anyone??

Oh.. 1 more question.. to play online (mutiplayer).. which one do I go to??

- Play on Ubi.com
- Join Server?? (What's the server address)..

Vector = your heading. The direction you are flying. You can see it both in an instrument in your cockpit, and on the speedbar (if it's on)

Height = your flying altitude. Same as vector, you can see this both on speedbar and in your instruments. Note that it's the altitude from sea level, so don't rely on it blindly (especially if flying in mountain areas). If if reads 100m, it means you're 100 meters above sea level, not 100 meters above the ground below you.

Choose to play at Ubi.com. It closes the game and starts the lobby application. You log in and then you see the different game rooms. Choose IL2-forgotten battles, then " IL2: FB - Dogfight". Now you see the servers that are running. Then just select the armorama arena, enter the password and the game starts and connects.

Hi all!

My adsl modem is having problems again! I'm writing this thanks to my old 56k modem... If someone read this, just try to do a server without me... I will try to join later...

I started that room. If it doesn't work, someone else should try to host.

Hi,

I closed the room. I really don't have a clue why we receive a time-out message. I'm not able to join you tonight but I'm still looking forward to the next dogfight!

Cheers,

I couldn't get in either. Strange, it worked when Tedmamere hosted, what was the patch you downloaded? I thought that just 1.22 would be enough. At least I can find only one 1.22 patch on any sites.

I'll try to create a room again. Try to login.

Edit. It just refuses to work properly. I'll try to contact technical support at ubi. I'll ask about the whole issue.

I have been flying around in a FW190D-9, P-47D and P-51D, didn't see anyone else so I'm not sure if I buggered things up?

Okay, this may be a dumb question, but are you guys flying GMT AM or PM, I need to take into account that you or most of you pilots are on the other side of the pond from me.
Unfortunately, I think that while you are flying I am stuck at work.

Ken,

You right about being stuck at work. They are 6-7 hours ahead of us. I'm in CST.

Hi all!

I'm really sorry for what happened yesterday!

I think you want an explanation... here it is:
I just came home from work and launched my iMac to see if there was any message in the IL2 thread before launching the server. I saw Jurjen's message and answered it. Then I disconnected my modem and connected it to the PC I have upstairs for gaming... Believe it or not, it's exactely that moment this freebox modem choosed not to work anymore! I tried from 5:30 GMT to 7:00 GMT without luck! This damn thing just didn't want to get a connection! This is the second time something like that happens with my modem and last time I had no internet access for 24 hours...
I connected my Mac again but it didn't worked neither. I just managed to connect it with the old 56k modem to post a message to warn you and decided to go in the basement to work on my Gotha P60c resin kit...
I guess you can imagine how I was yesterday as all this happened! The modem was close to be trashed or throwed out the window! Can you believe that!!! It just refused to work half an hour before our IL2 rendez-vous! Now I'm sure there is a computer God but also a computer Devil!
Again, I'm sorry, especially for those who waited deep in the night to play... I'm also sorry nobody was able to launch a server Frankly, I don't know why it worked with mine last friday but didn't worked with your computers yesterday... Did you launch the server from the ubi.com application?

For those still wanting to give it a try, I'll start a server today from 1 PM GMT to 3 PM GMT and from 6 PM GMT to 8 PM GMT... hoping it will work this time! I know saturday may not be a good day but maybe we could resolve these server issues...

Paul and Ken, we are aware that Friday evening may be a problem for our American friends... maybe we should all suggest other timeframes so we could know wich best will work for all of us...

modem!

Jean-Luc

P.S the modem is working again properly this morning... ???

Hi Jurjen!

Sorry again! I hope it will work this time... for those who won't be able to join this evening, I'll make another try this afternoon from 1:00 GMT to 3:00 PM GMT, so there will be two sessions:

UK = 1:00 - 3:00 PM
France and Netherlands = 2:00 - 4:00 PM
Finland = 3:00 - 5:00 PM
Singapore = 20:00 - 22:00 PM
Texas = 7:00 - 9:00 AM

Saturday Evening
UK = 6:00 - 8:00 PM
France and Netherlands = 7:00 - 9:00 PM
Finland = 8:00 - 10:00 PM
Singapore = 1:00 - 3:00 AM Sunday (ouch!)
Texas = 12:00 - 14:00 PM

I hope my modem will not let me down this time...

Jean-Luc
