Hi everyone,
Detoured from my WW II Mt. Cassino vignette when I forgot that I had actually registered for the Medic campaign. Below is a pic of work in progress. Its going to feature SF medics treating kids in a Montagnard village. 2 kids and pouches on standing SF, SF berets and sarongs on the ladies scratchbuilt. All figures received minor to major surgery on their arms.
First go at scuplting figures and I 'gatal' by starting off with something difficult as usual. The Home Ministry says the kids have some genetic defect, 'Mongloid features' was what she used. Ah well, first try macam inilah....

Thanks Boss & Mojimbo for the kind comments. I wish I have the capability to sculpt all the figures but actually I sculpted only the kids. The figures are from various kits which I modified.
1. 1st woman from the left is from Academy M113 kit. Repositioned both arms and gave her a sarong.
2. Both kids with 'Mongloid' features sculpted from scratch.
3. 2nd woman from DML VC kit. Both arms modified and made the sarong.
4. Standing SF has a DML LRRP set head and body and legs and hands from Academy M113 kit. Gave the arms short sleeve and made the body have a full jungle fatigue top with modified cargo pockets and a beret.
5. Squating SF was from DML Marine Recon. Realigned arms and gave him rolled short sleeves and a beret.

Thanks very much for the kind comments Thomas. Its still pretty crude work as it my first attempt at a full figure and a very small one at that. The dimensions I feel are not too far off just having trouble with faces and hands. Hope you got my PM.

hey everyone... my 2-year girl was admitted to hospital early tuesday morning, the doctor said she caught the pneumonia. ...but as of today she's getting better and she'll probably be disharged in 2-3 days. (so tonight it's buka puasa 2days in a row at the ward, together with the missus)

current work in-progress: tiger I interior and the 251/9, though i might cut in with the kv1...

Jimbo, sorry to hear about your daughter. All modellers here wish your daughter a speedy recovery. We hope to see you and your family back in shape for the coming Hari Raya.
Best wishes to you and your family.
As for me, I have been rather busy with office work and organizing the DEC SnT. I don't think I will do much modelling in the coming months or at least until mid DEC.
BTW, do check-out MH as MH has just restocked their Italeri collection. AutoBinda and LCMP is now available in KL together with some of the last two releases from Italeri. I was told the new Italeri Hercules were grabbed-up within a few days.
Furthermore, Toycity is now stocking up Trumpeter kits. The kits are not cheap with the latest 1/32nd SU-27 offered at more than RM800 (I got mine less than RM280). Sounds like the Tamiya history in KL is being repeated.

Yo! Jimbo!
Sorry to hear about your kid..hope she recovers fully!
Toycity now stocks up Trumpeter? That's a new angle after Tamiyas since the early 90's.
Re-arranged the contents of the display cabinet two days ago. Now there is an empty slot in the AFV section and two in the plane section..wonder what would I get in KL on my way to balik kampung....I think a Trumpeter Hotchkiss tank would be nice.

...on the subject of MH, they also stock the italeri 1/48 TBM avenger for RM100 .... seems italeri's prices are going up as well! ...didn't notice any trumpeter kits at toycity though.

If I'm not mistaken, the Italeri Avenger is ex-Accurate Miniatures mold when AM (temporarily) closed shop a few years ago. Well, expect hi-quality offering (and consequently, the price) for that one.
Aaaaaa KV-1s gone aaaa??? I was hoping to find (as alternative to the Hotchkiss) the 'KV-1 simplified turret',

the avenger is a reasonably good kit, based from the AM molds i think. here's the review:
1/48 avenger
i would have got the kit myself when i noticed it doesn't have folding wings .....
