Fellow Modelers,

My last question got over 3,000 lookie-loos and 0ver 150 response. Let's top that with this question? About how many hour per week do you average getting to actually spend time modeling?
I get to average about 14 hours per week. I think I'm lucky for a working guy. And, if you're looking for any of my work, I've been working on one diorama for over ten years, so I have nothing finished to show...yet.

I usually try to get in about an hour a day during the work week, and at least several hours a day on the weekends.

I do between 6 and 15 hours a week, depending on work, Emily and my mood. But I always do a bit every day if you include "genning" up on the old references.

Here lately, about 10 or 12 hours a week. We have a very active adopted 4 year old, so most of my time has been spent chasing him around. 4 days a week he has three hours per day preschool , thats when I build!

Cheers,
Garry

During vacation it can go up to 15-20 a week. Normally, I'll be lucky to get 5 hours a week.

Lately my time spent modelling has been nothing. Yep, the only real time I see a model is on this site. However, if you count time spent on this site and searching for reference, then it is usually about 15 hours a week. Luckily, my schedule just opened up so I hope to start a new project soon.

I could probably model 20-30 hours per week if I wanted, but sometimes after a long day at work, I'm just not in the mood. I normally trun on the TV and kind of model during the commercials. I get the most modeling done during sports -- I can clean up an entire set of indy-link tracks during a football game. I finished building three models and started a fourth during the college bowls -- now I'm just waiting for the weather to warm up so I can paint them!

The History Channel and any old war flicks are also good opportunities to get some serious modeling done.

Attending a model contest also gets me inspired -- I usually come home and go nuts for a few weeks.

Right now I get 4-5 hours a day for modelling, either building or looking online for references or checking out armorama/A-UK. Soon though they are radically changing my hours of work so it will probably drop a lot.

I get 8 to 14 hours a day. It is what I do now. I am retired and spend all my time either on the web or bulding.

Actually building - I try to get 1 - 1.5 during the week and as many as 3 each day on the weekends, so 7 - 15ish
Now - add in the amount of time I spend searching the internet for content, ideas, research, inspiration, posting responses and I think that doubles.

Well I figure I have about 3-4 hours a night to model, but realistically only model for an hour or so. Weekends often give me a few more hours to get some work done. I am finishing the tamiya Krupp Protze towing the 3.7cm pak and starting the Italeri 2 1/2 ton cargo truck.

It all depends on how much my wife works... with the 5 young'uns that I have at home I get to work on my models only when my wife is not at work. Normally on a good week I'll get 7-10 hours in, on a slow week it will drop to 1-2 hours.

BOTTOM LINE: NOT NEARLY ENOUGH!!!!

I would say that I model probably about 3-4 hours a day unless I have a test or something. Going to college sure helps with the modeling time!

For me it fluctuates wildly as I'm at work anywhere from 40 to 60 hours per week and then usually put in a some work hours at home. On a good week I may work one night, have some days off and get about 6 to 10 hours in during the week. On a bad week, working four nights and may only get a couple hours in at the model bench. Although on weekends I usually get 8 to 10 hours in. Speaking of.... time to head to the bench.

Because of my addiction to this site, none! A big fat goose egg! Zero! Zilch! Nodda!

Actually, I could easily have over 40 hrs per week, but because of our differing schedules, (me & the Mrs.) I'm too darn tired. I work from 5AM till 2PM, she works 3PM till 11PM. We have only one car. But, I do manage to squeeze in about 10.
I usually take the easy way out and sift through here. That does count, right?

I could rack up 30 hours at a weekend, 3 or 4 hours every evening and then go down to almost zero. Depends on work and family. Usually modelling comes last of these 3, but when I get the oppertunities I take it. I make a point of trying to do a little each day ... even if its only a quick wash. Its the days you have no time or lust and you do something small, it pays back big time when you do have the time. Even a little tidy-up in the model area helps now and again.
The more Im modelling... the more Im on here. When you dont see me here, Im not modelling! One seems to go hand-in-hand with the other!

Anywhere between 15 and 20 hours a week ..could be more but I usually end up on the computer in the afternoons instead of modelling ...See I'm here again ..!!
