Is there something wrong with me?

I've heard of serial killers, but serial modeler? Is it a good or bad thing?

To make it clear - above are just those kits that I have four of or more. I also have several "doubles" and of course a large pile (a few of them actually) of various individual kits

Today I took all my Humvee kits to check what options I have now to build them and when I saw this collection I decided to take a photo. And then I decided to take a few more

I am a medical doctor and be sure you are absolutely healthy and there is nothing wrong. What you have is called VERSIONAMANIA and almost all armor modelers have it in DNAs. It is genetic and also epidemic
very nice collection.I liked the M113 series..but you dont have a M113 A2T2 with M 55..air defense system

I share your illness, my problem is M60s, F4s and 104s. As far as I can see you're normal.

Nice collection

I only wish that I could limit myself as you did. I can't show that much restraint. :-)

I think you guys all must have much more tolerant spouses than me. My wife complains when I build a M3 Lee and a M7 Priest... "but they're the same." Funny how she can see that the suspension is the same but the superstructure and guns are different.

I haven't gotten this disease "versionmania" quite yet. Maybe it's dormant in me. Maybe someday one of every Sherma ever, THAT would take up a whole room all by itself. Until then I just want one of every main type, M3,M4, M18, M36, etc.

I can see the advantage of this. I often think when i just have completed a kit, how it would be to start another the same and try something extra. From the previous experience you can only get better. My problem is, nearly everything I look at is so cool and i always want to try something different.
I built Italeris M32, M7 and M4A1 at the same time and it drove me up the wall. None of them are finished yet and i built them almost a year ago.
Then i started AFVs M88 and revells M88A1 and both are only 50% built. that was six months ago.
Never again, never agin I tell you!! AAAAAAAaaaaaaahhhhhh #:-)

Why in the world would you have four identical models?

That's easy...It's perfectly normal behavior.

I'm a sick sick person.....to! At last count , including planes, ships, armor kits, I came up with 120 kits . Now thats to many, but I know modelers that have upto 500 in there collection!
And I have given lots of kits to youngsters, and I will go thru them time again and give more to the young people. LOL! must be why I bought them all!

Cheers,
Garry

I don't think that you have a serious problem there Pawel, but I would be very careful of those wingy-thingies. I mean... I'd really hate to totally lose you to the dark side...

And just look at all those lovely M113s... Oh, be still my aching heart...

Not for me, but I do understand your reasonings behind having multiples. I kind of like the sensation of moving on to other subjects. I am (semi) afraid that the 'Sergeant-Major' (the Mrs.) would question multiple kits altho, I did do a run of 113s years ago with no 'problem'. Now it's just "another mortar?" :-)

Vodnik,

One can NEVER have too many kits. Doubles, Triples are just conversions waiting to happen!!

Good luck.

Roger that.

Code:
One can NEVER have too many kits. Doubles, Triples are just conversions waiting to happen!!

Roger that, too.

Daggit, Vodnik: Are you a modeler or a mere assembler? I can see you are a Modeler, with a capital "M" --

Rule 1: You can never build too many variants.

Rule 2: You can never have too many kits to build those variants.

Rule 3: There is NO rule number three.

**note: I am still trying to explain rules 1 & 2 to the Household Chief of Staff ... seems I'm a Shermaholic ... the first part of the cure is admitting I have "a problem" ... but my biggest problem is NOT ENOUGH KITS.

...

....

OK, I feel better now.
