Well guys, Kevin made it through the night. So far he is doing well. He still remains on the ventilator and on the heart pump, but all vital signs are stable. His blood pressure is now stable, his color looks really good, and so far..all labs indicate improvement. I am now waiting on the cardiologist to come in and review the morning findings, and the tenative plan is to have the heart pump removed and the ventilator off by the end of the day. I will let you know more as things change. Please keep thinking of and praying for us. And for all of those who have posted their sympathies, thank you so much for taking the time to care.

I am glad he is coming around. I was worried there for a while. I know he is probably not out of the woods yet but hopefully things will continue to improve.

Another Update!!!!....The cardiologist just came in ..says kevins labs are great, his cardiac enzymes are a lot lower than they expected..which means there is lots less damage to the heart , and they just removed the heart pump.

)) As of right now..they are keeping pressure on the site to slowly stop the bleeding, and will continue to do this over the next 30 min. I spoke with his lung doctor, and he says that kevins lungs sound really good. He has been weaned off the oxygen, from 80% about three hours ago down to about 40% now. Which means,,that the ventilator gets to come out shortly.
Once again, keep the prayers coming, i am sure that all of your prayers are being heard and are being sent straight to Kevin aiding in his recovery.

UPDATE!!!!!!!...Woohoo...The pulmonologist just came in and they have turned off the assisted breathing portion of the ventilator. What this means is ...that although the tube still remains in his throat. His breathing is now being done totally by him.

) All vitals are holding steady. And his oxygen level is doing very well. Next step will be to remove the tube from him. So Keep your fingers crossed that that happens. Thanks again to everyone for there kind words, thoughts, and prayers.

Hi Mary
I don't visit this forum often, so I missed your earlier posts. Dreadful initial news, but it's fantastic to read that Kevin's surpassing the doctor's expectations and doing so well. Rest assured, my thoughts are in the queue of good vibes heading to both of you.
Take care
Rowan

It is good to hear that Kevin is now holding his own. Sorry for a late "prayer" for Kevin, but I have been out of the net for last two weeks.
Your presence, I am sure, has been instrumental in his improvement
