People always talk about having models in the stash/pile. So I ‘m curious, how big is your pile ?? My pile of unmade models consists of about 15 models.

Hi mossieramm,
At this moment, (just counted them), I've got 23 unbuild kits on the shelf, however, I'm planning another fieldtrip to my local hobby store in the near future, so the pile will become bigger!

Right now only about 12 unbuilt kits.
I have at least that many kits of figures also, but I don't really count those as kits as much as I do accessories for the unbuilt kits.
Like Dragonwagon, I am also planning a trip this weekend to my L.H.S. to stock up on misc. items, so I am sure that the pile will grow!

On last count I had 28 kits not started and 15 in several stages of completion. This is not couting AM stuff like friul tracks, Aber and Eduard PE,...
I also have about 40 figure kits from which I use single figures or just parts.
Hmm, what's that about focus #:-) #:-) . It's about time I finish something (Stug III for RMG perhaps???).

I haven't counted lately, but my stash has taken a dip in recent years -- probably fewer than 100 kits right now. Gosh, how could I let things get this lean??? #:-)

At last count I had 10 Armor kits, 85 aircraft kits, and 20 Ship kits. The Aircraft kits has been untouched in 2 years, I mostly build armor and warships now.

I'm at 36 various kits on the shelf. Not to bad, not to many. Always looking for more. The purchasing goes at faster rate than the building #:-)

Currently, I have 4 unbuilt kits on my shelf, however, I found an ad where a local hobby shop gices me 25% off my purchase if I go there 2weeks after my birthday...is it wrong that I started saving for this trip 3 months in advance? I expect that my collection will grow substantially.

40-50 not including conversions and figure sets. Sure glad I got rid off all the WWII stuff a couple years back. It's down to a good manageable size

well about 5-6 years, I knew I was going to retire so I acquired a whole bunch of kits while the money was there. I now have 200+ kits, heavy in aircraft less so in armor(but why do I build mostly armor then?). I do not expect to outlive my stash, but why worry? I will enjoy it till the end.

Well here’s mine with a few photos. At present I don’t have any more space to put more kits. My stash is ‘stashed’ anywhere in the house that I can find space. I have more in the garage these have been boxed in anticipation for the move to the new house.
These photos are just of the kits that are easily reached and exclude almost all of my aftermarket stuff.
This is what the shelf on top of my desk looks like.

In one of the cupboards.

My roaming stash. When someone in the family gets agitated that I have put kits in their sock drawer or wherever, they are added here, these I put anywhere I find place (usually on top of cupboards, bookcases, the coat closet etc..).

I usually take my figures and accessories out of the box (flatten the boxes) and put them in a plastic tub, or two up in a box (only the same kits). I have one tub full (except for this one) and need one or two more.

This is some of my Sci-Fi stuff (amongst others).

Total: All scales 200 plus change, I am not sure.

Somewhere around 15 kits (as in vehicle models).
Add to that a few sets of figures, 7 kits in various stages of completion, and a number of AM items, including interiors for a Wespe and Pz IV Ausf J, Zimmerit sets (Tiger and Pz IV J). I am first going to finish a number of the unbuilt, and in the mean time can acquire some accesories for a few unbuilt kits. And literature....
To be added in the near future: a few Revell Sd.Kfz 250/3's as conversion base and Demag D7's as these are on sale, and the DML Pz. V Ausf G Nightfightingpanther. Perhaps a reissue of the Tamiya Sd.Kfz . 7 as well, to go with my 7/1 and 7/2.

Hundreds of kits of all kinds, cars, planes (any scale), armor, sci-fi, figures, ships, real space craft, etc.
This is my ready room and may be 1/10 of the total amount of kits I have.

I've got maybe 30 kits. I've got them stashed in two 32 gallon totes so they are out of sight. Not out of my sight, out of my wife's. You know out of sight, out of mind.
I REALLY, want to thank the Hobby Lobby customer that was checking out the model aisle the last time my wife and I were there. He heard my wife say something about how many unbuilt models I had. He asked me how many I had. I said maybe 40, and he told my wife she shouldn't complain until I got too 450 models, like he had. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Now my wife doesn't think I've got TOO many.

Well at last count I was at about 250 unbuilt armor kits plus about 50 boxes of figurines ...How many resin figures ...I don't know!! oh yeah and 1 airplane!! This is nothing compared to two of my friends one has over 800 kits and the other stopped counting at over 1000....so I feel fine ....Just remember ...He who dies with the most kits ,WINS!
