Also I would like to know what brands do you use for bottle paints and spray cans

I started with MM Enamels, but a little while back I switched over to Tamiya Acrylics, which I seem to have fallen in love with.

I use Model Master enamels. because,
a. they look good and are easy to use and airbrush
b. there is a really great color selection
I've never tried acrylics, but I can't say i see many reasons to aside from the safety aspect.
Thats just my opinion.

For the most part, I use acrylics. My favorite is Tamiya acrylics, although I use Model Master acrylics for priming (I can thin the paint and attach the same bottle to my aztec airbrush without transferring like the tamiya paint). This cuts down on cleanup time.
I started using Vallejo and find it more viscous than the Tamiya or Model Master arylics.

I use Tamiya Acrylics about 95% of the time with a little MM acrylic thrown in for colour.

I use
- acrylic primer - airbrushed - (I'm "incompatible" with spray cans 'cause I always make a mess)
- without any preference I use acrylics and enamels for basecoats
- oils - diluted with Zippo lighter fuel (thanks to the Armorama fella sfor the hint) for washes

Model Master, primary acrylics, sometimes enamels, basically due to the availability in local hobby shops.

I use acrylics exclusively. My choice for airbrushing is Tamiya and for painting figures I use Vallejo.

I use almost all MM enamels mainly because I can get them just about any place that has models. I also think that I give Tamiya enough of my money so I haven't tried any of their paints. I also picked up some Floquil paints at a close out sale and I rather like them because they paint so well right out of the box. Recently my wife gave me a bunch of her hobby acrylics from Wal Mart. I'm going to try them on my next project. I use oil paints on figures, either Winsor/Newton or Van Gough.

I started with enamels, and I only use Model Master Enamels.
I just like them better than acrylics. My dad uses acrylics, and he likes them. Who knows maybe I will switch over!

I love Model Master Enamels and will prob use them forever as I have gotten pretty good at airbrushing them and the color selection is great.. at the moment I have about 170 bottles of the stuff.
I also have recently purchased about 6 bottles of Tamiya Acrylics to experment with and I have a few Poly Scale and Floquil colors that I use for some things. I also use artist water colors and will prob use and experment with just about anything.......
but I'm Model Master Enamels to the core.. everything else is just to complment them.LOL

Same here,Tamiya in the airbrush,MM or Humbrol for washes, etc. I've been brushing for years and really enjoy it but you can't beat a sprayed base coat for effect. The range of colors from MM&Humbrol are amazing as well.Jock

:-) At the moment I'm using Xtracolor enamels and Lifecolor acrylics. I do use Humbrol enamels but only for detail painting. :-)

usually M M enamels...I have a devil of a time using acrylics through the air brush, but I think i'd better learn because it looks like the enamels are starting to go the way of the betamax VCR
