I'm a sucker for the two updated Addams Family movies - I hurt laughing at them when they come on. Sorry to see Raul Julia pass away - I was hoping for a third to round them all out.

Boy, tough question. It depends on what type of humor I want but I would have to say
1 Young Frankenstien
2 Princess Bride
3 Hallelujah Trail
4 Blues Brothers

"Monty Python and the Holy Grail" is still by far the funniest thing I have ever seen. I'm a sucker for English humor.

Spaceballs and Airplane.

My girlfriend got them both for me on DVD and I had completely forgotten how funny they were. You know a movie is good when there is nothing else on and you have to throw it in the player to catch 30 minutes or so of laughter- and usually end up finishing it for the 50th time.

National Lampoon's Vacation the first one, my family vacations when I was a kid were alot like that. I even remember in the 6th grade we went on a field trip to Idora Park in Youngstown, and when we got there it was closed. Another movie that always makes me laugh is "Mad,mad, mad, mad, world".

I love English humor too - I'm a serious Benny Hill and Red Dwarf fan - but neither are movies - yet...

2. Spaceballs
3. National Lampoons Christmas Vacation.
Benny Hill is also my favorite

"HA! It's only a flesh wound!"

Being in the airline business, Airplane strikes the funny bone on so many levels. Being an old hockey player, Slapshot keeps me in stitches!

Not a movie obviously but I got quite a few laughs a year or so ago when BBC America had a "Red Dwarf" marathon. Being a sci-fi fan I had of course heard of the show, but I had never lived in an area that broadcast it. Some really funny stuff though.

Oh and I think "Young Frankenstien" would definately be my 2nd place choice.

Holy Grail is the best, although Life of Brian can compete (the German suicide squad comes to mind LOL). "No, no, I'm NOT the Messiah!!!!!"

Gee, I've heard of most of these movies, but haven't seen them. Maybe it's time for a trip to the rental place.

Swinging back to English humor - while the movie version of "Bean" wasn't as funny, I love the little series of "Mr. Bean" skits that Rowan Atkinson does. He's fantastic! Like Benny Hill, there's no one else like him...

I thought the part where Bean stuffs the turkey in the microwave was one of the funniest movies scenes ever!

I agree - it was! I kinda think that the movie version of "Bean" was too long - he's really funniest in short, quick, takes instead of the long, drawn out, movie format. Now, I'd enjoy it if he was torturing the guy in the little blue three-wheeler in the movie...

I have to agree with almost anything Monty Python, Red Dwarf and Faulty Towers
A movie I forgot about but is great is the Producers. Who can forget such a song as "Springtime for Hitler and Germany"

I love most of the movies that have been mentioned. But what about the one from our friends to the north "Strange Brew" did anyone else see that and like it. I warned you in another post that the stupider the comedy the more I like it.

I'd have to say that any movie with the late John Candy rates up there as some of the funniest. Just looking at him would make me laugh. :-)

Uncle Buck, Wagons East, Summer Rental, and of course Planes Trains & Automobiles.

I agree Kenc, John Candy really made me laugh. Even in the smaller roles, the security guard at wally world, or Ox in Stripes. I loved him with sctv, a great show.
