- you feel sexy and aroused the moment you file the gap on a figure's crotch

Angela----- That made the coffee hit the new monitor....

You know you are a modeler when you wake up in the middle of the night to add on more detail, that just popped into your head. And while you are up, you might as well, just check the site......

You know your a "red neck", oh I'm sorry, wrong thing!

You know your a modeler when:

Visiting all the LHS is on your vaction itinerary!

Your trying to start up that model club in a COMBAT ZONE!

Your trying to figure out how to pack a couple of small model kits in your duffle bag when you get called up for Hurricane Duty.

You know you're a Modeller when;
You're plotting a way to talk SWMBO into a vacation in shizuoka, so you can visit the Tamiya factory while she goes shopping (dont tell her this)

:-) I'll do you a deal, I won't tell your SWMBO that if you don't tell mine our trip to france is restricted to normandy battlefields only!

You know your a modeler when ...

--you go to the movies, and someone asks you what the movie was about and you cant tell them...but you can draw out perfectly several scenes that would make an awesome diorama..

---your driving down the road and instead of watching traffic..your trying to take pictures with your digi cam of all the wonderful colors in the scenery...

--one of the prerequisites for a vacation destination is that there has to be at least one good hobby shop within the immediate area...

--You go on vacation for rest and relaxation and you take all your model supplies with you to the hotel so you can build while your not at the local hobby shop.

--You buy a laptop, just so you can take ARMORAMA with you while your away. :-)

You know you're a modeller when....

You pace the floor like a nervous first time father waiting for your DML 3 in 1 Tiger to arrive in the mail.

The smell of paint and glue no longer gets you high

You get up at 4:30 am on weekends just to work on your newest kit (true for me!)

You get edgy when you haven't glued/cut/painted something in the past couple of days!

You know the names and call signs of Armorama members better than your own families names.

:-) :-)

You still get up early at the weekend so that you can get a couple of hours painting in before the rest of the family wake up.

Instead of looking in the phone book for resteraunts while on vacation, you're busy looking for the closest hooby shop (Guilty as cahrged)
- You bring kits to work on as well

You recognise camo schemes by their names.
Armorama is your homepage.

When you say to the family "lets go out for the day ", then visit the Imperial war museum and a model shop on the way home. I did this during the summer and i wasn't very popular :-).

Besides all these great ones already listed.

You know you're a modeler when...

You're totally heterosexual, and NOT a cross dresser, yet you have no issues with going to beauty supply stores looking for supplies and tools.

You love your daughters but can't wait till they leave home for college so you can grab one of their rooms as a modeling room.

You paint your kitchen a nice shade of green and get badly punched by SWMBO when you mention it's an exact shade that a Sherman tank would have been painted.

You know what SWMBO means.

You consider a new job when your company stops allowing you to have packages from Lucky Model or Squadron delivered to your work so you don't have to explain the latest purchases.

You only buy kits that are small enough to sneak in past SWMBO.

It would be grounds for leaving your job if they ever block Armorama.

When you read what has been said here and think of it as common sense...

The worst one:
When you have been painting or building instead of having relations with SWMBO... (might be guilty to that one hehe)

Before you throw that old lamp in the garbage, you cut the cord off for the wire inside.

You spend a lot of time watching bulldozers to see how the dirt collects on the tracks.

You know you're a modeller when:
-you devise a method to make your helicopters "fly" with the help of theory you learned in college-level physics (don't worry guys, I've almost got it)
-you forgo your normal morning routine (shower, brush teeth, etc) for the entire weekend because doing so cuts down on modelling time
-you go to the hobby store to buy a fourth M1A1 instead of going to Target / Wal-Mart for deoderant
-you get a permanent login account for your college's computer lab because you can then create AutoCAD drawings of your next scratch project
-you have taped a magnifying glass to your safety glasses because you were too cheap to buy an Optivisor (photographic proof exists of this one, unfortunately)
-you know what an Optivisor is
-you stay up until 2 a.m. to see a documentary that you have seen ten times already
-you have been ridiculed for enjoying a "kid's hobby"
-you can relate or have done everything listed so far in this topic
Happy Modelling!

LOL.... these are great.... I can relate to sooooo many....

While at tonights IPMS meeting I saw another..... you risk your life to get some great frontal barrel shots of: Olifant MBT, Bateleur Rocket Launchers, AA Guns, G6 SPGs, Rooivalk Attack helicopter Rocket Pods, while theyire reloading or clearing the barrels to prove to your mates that their conversions were wrong and/or to collect photo references... :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)

And another.....

You're not phased when SWMBO throws out your collection, some vintage, of Playboy..... but heaven help her for throwing out the latest issue of your favourite modelling mag or changing the homepage from Armorama.... :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)
