Hi Chaps
The English premier league is just around the corner. I always play for fun, usually in a little league with my wife.

I thought it would be a laugh to start "The Armorama Cup"
Anybody who is interested, just has to sign-up with a simple free registration, pick your team and subs that are worth under, or equal to, Ģ100,000,000. Then enter your team in the Armorama Cup league.

You can register at Fantasy Premier League. Just follow the explanations on the site. Takes about 20 minuts in total, but feel free to allow a lot more if you fancy yourself as a bit of an expert. You can always use "the Pundit" for advise.

Once you have logged in and entered your team, click on the 'Leagues'
link you can find on the the right of the page. Now enter the code
250575-38824 to join the private Armorama Cup league.

All registrations and sign ups must be completed before 13 Aug 11:30 (GMT).
This is the official Premier league site and their rules are our rules. I am administer .. dont really know what this means yet ... time will tell. I do have a team entered (Plasticbattle), but I dont think this is a problem. All sign-ups to the Armorama league must be Armorama members, and their team name must be their user name so we can keep track of each other.

To add to the competition, I will sponsor a "Model related" prize for the league winner. Donīt know what it is yet, but I have to April next year to decide.

Good luck and have fun!

Darn Frank I saw "Fantasy Football" and I started salivating. To us "colonials" a football is that pointy thing that hardly ever comes in contact with a foot.

I don't know how to set this up but if anybody has an information of doing an American Football leaque I'd be really intested.

Don't mean to stell your thread Frank.

Two teams in the league now! Disappointed that it wouldn't let me choose more than 3 players from my beloved Spurs though.

OK ... 3 teams so far, Myself, Dave Cox and Thomas Bertilsson.

Sorry Rodger ... weīre talking real football here :-) :-)
Fantasy football like this has been around for quite a few years now, at our side of the globe. Donīt know if they have anything similar for that american padded sport!

At the time of writing there is 7 days, 22 hours and 56 minutes to last registration.

Contrary to popular belief, there are some colonials on this side of the pond who know a thing or two about the original version of football. The members of this league will learn that lesson all too painfully when this colonial's team dominates the league. :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)
Yes, I am also more than prepared to eat a heaping helping of crow in case my team fall flat on its face. Of course, that won't happen, but I'm ready just in case.
By the way, there is a HUGE fantasy football industry over here for the Americanized version of the game as well.

A bit of a stir??? To put it mildly. Malcolm Glazier and family have bought Man UTD and turned it from a public company to private affair. He borrowed heavily and fans are afraid prices will rise to cover. he owns some US basketball or football club as well!

The clock is still counting down! 4 days, 23 hours and 36 minutes left to sign up at the time of writing. We are still only seven members (see first post). Any new takers???

I donīt think you guys would be happy if you get beaten by her .... She has beaten me the last 2 years. Donīt ever under estimate women in football ... they know their stuff!
We actually met the year man Utd won the trebble .... so many long days and evenings in the Pub watching the football!

Results after gameweek 1

1__betheyn2 (Andy Brazier) . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 55
2__Tarok (Rudi Richardson) . . . .. . . . . . . . . . . .54
3__DaveCox (Dave Cox) . .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 47
4__Helsingborgs IF (Thomas Bertilsson) . .. .45
5__Plasticbattle (frank glackin) . .. . .. . . . . . . . .39
6__Legion of Doom (Marty Wasiak) . . . . . . . . .38
7__Blackburn Weasels (Ed Tanski) . . . . . . . . .32
8__Holland 1 (Henk Meerdink) . . . . . . . . ... . . . 31
9__tankysgal1 (mary langley) . . .. . . . . . . . . . . 28

Andy Brazier took a strong lead after saturdays games, but with two players on the Arsenal squad from sundays game, keeps him in top position.
Rudi had a great sunday, closing the gap on Andy and pushing him into a close second.
27 points between first and last already, after one game. The rest of field will have to consider some new tactics to keep Andy and Rudi from getting too far ahead in the early stages.

Next update .. after gameweek 2 results are in!
