To all my Armorama friends in the uk my thoughts are with you and to any one who has been effected by todays events, sadley i feel that this is part of an on going attempt to to terrorise us and i feel there will be more.
Perhaps the likes of Hook man Hamza and the other throuble makers can be sent back from where they came, Hamza hates the UK but still pulls 100s of pounds a week in disabillity money, my dads mate who lost a leg on D-Day had his other leg removed about 4 years ago and get a load of this they reduced his dissabillity allowence cos they said he could walk better
Take care all back home dont let the B----------ds grind you down

Outside London, I think things are more relaxed and much like normal. people will be more cautious, but everyone seemed relaxed on the trains and buses that I used around Leeds yesterday evening and this morning. Our thoughts and prayers are of course still with those bereaved.

there has been a tip off that something might be happening in Glasagow on Saturday

I wouldn’t count on it.
After September 11 everyone was getting reports here of things that the terrorist were going to bomb next.

Most of it just appears to be people trying to play sick joke.
Hopefully such reports don’t last long over there. And certainly hope nothing else does end up happening.

I was sad to hear about this yesterday morning. I am just glad that my friends in the UK are safe and sound. I had somewhat short-circuited my membership to the Junk Drawer so this topic was hidden from me on the latest posts list. I knew it had to be here though.

For the terrorists...

My heartfelt thanks to all overseas members who have expressed there sorrows with us,but all i have in my heart is a deep burning anger at those murderers who have slain innocent members of my country,i have heard on the news views from people who in the past have condoned this type of action saying they do not wish to be tied to this type of action.....but.....why has there always got to be a but.......there is no but!...its bloody murder........condem it or bugger off......this is my country.....my way of life......my forbears spent their lives to attain what we have got in the way of individual freedoms, and that includes what we used to call the Commonweath, plus the US,we can not number the lives lost to attain freedom of thought,in the year 2005 keep their memorys alive

"One ought never to turn one's back on a threatened danger and try to run away from it. If you do that, you will double the danger. But if you meet it promptly and without flinching, you will reduce the danger by half."
Sir Winston Churchill

They ran the Union Jack up the pole in front of the State Department here in the States today. It was the first time in the history that that has ever happened. The Queen ordered the "Star Bangled Banner" played instead of "God Save the Queen" on 09.11.01.

Class follows class.

God save the the Queen.

From what I'm reading, I take it no members were affected. I'm thankful for that. Unfortunately, you've been through this before, but you still came out on top, and you will again. The who did this sure make a strong argument for bringing back public executions!!

My thoughts and sympathies go out to everybody in London and anybody that has suffered any kind of loss.
When I heard the initial reports I was shocked and felt sick.
As keenan mentioned--
I will never forget hearing our national anthem played by order of Her Royal Highness...after 9/11 and all those emotions that were pent up, hearing that and that gesture by the British-- I finally broke down and cried and that simple gesture has never and will never escape me. .
Again, my heartfelt sympathies to all those effected by this terriable event.

thankyou shaun, inspirational words.

also thanks to all our international members for your kind words,

as arthur says there is no fear or terror on the streets of london-or the rest of Britain. only the urge to continue as normal, and extreme anger towards those who did this.

we have fought for nearly a thousand years to protect our people, culture and values. nothing is changed by these attacks.

regards

My dad gets of for work at edgare road (where wone of the bombs was), but he was in his office half an hour before the bomb. He said that he felt the office shake as the shock-wave traveld down the tunnel. He was completly fine. It's really weird, the morning newspaper for thursday celebrated that London had won the olympic bid, and the evening newspaper had pics of ainjured people and the blown up bus...

death toll is about 50. If you think about it is is a relatvelly small ammount of people that got killed (compared to say the Madrid bombings). IT was the rush hour and there were 4 bombs, however, 50 dead people is 50 too many.

they will NOT destory or terroize this great city!

cheers

Philip

p.s I think emergency services did an amazing, absolutly fantastic job coping with this disaster, god bless the met, teh London fire service and the london paramedics.

Nice one Philip, they are fine sentiments from one so young. Like all brits you have the bulldog spirit, it cannot be broken, the cowards that did this will pay, whether in this life or the next. No matter how they try and twist their beliefs to condone this type of attrocity no one of sane mind can believe their god would condone it.

Well, I can stop pacing the floor, I have heard from my Lady Londoner.... who's living in the US now, and all is well there with her family.
As she so wonderfully discribed it....... "Londoners have a Dunkirk Spirit, and people have no idea of British Resolve"....

God Save the Queen.....

Its not something you can get used to, but there has been more than a fair share here in Saudi.
BUT when this terrible thing happens not just close to home but AT home its too much to bare.
Last Thursday we all became Londoners.

My thoughts and sympathies go out to the dead, the wounded and the missing and their families.
And commendations for all the emergency services and transport workers for their superb efforts.

Today I've been watching the commemorations for the end of WW2 (for non-Brits they rolled the European & Far Eastern commemorations into one). I'm pleased & proud to tell the world that the events of Thursday didn't stop the services, parades and stage shows from taking place - it made it plainly obvious to all that although London (and Britain) received a flesh wound on Thursday, the one that renders us Hor's De Combat is far far away.

Be proud ALL representatives of ALL the Allied nations - the free world lives.

yesterday the police made a very big breakthrough. All the bombs were suicide bombs and they found out where the bombers came from. 3 were from Leeds and one was from Luton. They also found a car in Luton that was filled with explosive, and matching explosive in a house in Leeds.

cheers

Not much of a baseball fan but when they played "God Save the Quuen" before the All-Star game last night I was impressed. As soon as the song was finished a B-2 flew over the stadium.
Nothing says "We have your back" like a B-2...

One of the houses raided is about 3 miles from my house. There was bright floodlighting over the whole area last night, and helicopters flying over, the local police helicopter didn't surprise us but an RAF Chinook came over at about midnight which we've never seen in our area before, probably flying specialist police units into the area. Armed Police (with H&K G36 carbines and pistols) were all around Leeds City station this morning (as they have been since 7 July) and today half the world's press have descended on Leeds (I gave an interview to a Japanese news team this morning to provide local reaction to the recent news).

The surprising thing is nobody on buses or trains are lifting an eyelid, it is totally calm as though nothing is happening, people are just going about their business here and talking about the usual day to day things, almost seeming detached from what is going on.

Nice to know you guys across the water are thinking about us.
