Bryan you are a nicer guy than I am as I would plaster there name and and post there e-mails that they hide behind. I for one thought you work was fine and like mine and all of our work has room to move forward. It is indeed sad that some people think they are so high and mighty that they can be the sole judge of what can be in what gallery.
Continue to post you work and continue to learn from those that know more and teach those that know less that is what this is all about. Most importantly ignore the childish immature member that darker this fine fine site. Sadly every bucket of apples has a few bad one. They just have to be indentified and culled out.

Ouch - that hurts.... It's sad to hear that that happened.

I learned a lesson from my Dad a long time ago.

In life there will Always be some one better than you and some one worse than you.

I also learned that I am one of those people, better than someone, and worse than someone.

I learned a lesson from my Mom a long time ago.

If you don't have anything good to say, then don't say anything at all.

I look at your great work and find inspiration not intimidation. This site is an inclusive site and covers ALL LEVELS and I feel that the majority of our members treat each other with respect. It's to bad about those two who feel threatened.

Keep up the good work and keep building Kick Butt models.

Bryan, I can sometimes seem to be a harsh critic, offering suggestions and critiques when others are simply lavishing praise. One thing I learned from my futile education to become and educator (okay, maybe the only thing I learned from my education classes) was to find something good to point out before addressing a problem.
Someone who would suggest a modeler who has the talent and/or the willingness to put the work into a great model not post his/her work is small minded to no end. We learn nothing from crying in our beer, but can learn volumes from our mentors and those who have more experienced than we.
I don’t know if the site has a policy on harassment of other members. Maybe it should. This has been one of the most troll free discussion groups I’ve been involved in. I hope it stays that way.

The Power of Words

Is what I'm going to say....

T = truthful
H = helpful
I = inspirational (going to build a person up)
N = necessary
K = kind

THINK before you speak!...or email!...or post!

I think you have handled the problem the right way, with this open letter.

Hi Bryan,
I really dont understand the two guys sending such e-mails, i would like to see them sending their positive or negative comments in posts not e-mails.but i am afraid they are not BRAVE to do that.
All i can say ; i am so glad to see your models here and have you as a FRIEND in Armorama.
Keep your way.

Hi Bryan...
this is a sad occurance...totally against all the values of the site.
I suppose with our ever growing number of members, the odd one or two idiots will get in.
Please don't worry, and don't stop doing what you have been. Ignore them, but if it happens again maybe you should pass on the addresses to Jim, so he may take action if they are members.

Otherwise..stuff 'em.

Keep up the good work Bryan. You know you've got our support.

Cheers
Peter

Envy... it's a bad thing, but it exists...

What saddens me the most is that it also exists on this site . I've seen some childish discussions and remarks on other fora, but at least they were public... personal attacks are so low. If you have a point to make have the courage to do it in the open and be man/woman enough to take the flak.
If you dont have the guts then beter be silent, you aren't gaining anything by such kind of actions.

Bryan, you do a good job here, envious people will allways exist, but that's their problem. So keep up the good work and don't let some childish figures get you down.

Now, i "work" on a gamerelated site, and i cases like that, the xxxxxx gets a warning, if it happens again, we scrap there accounts and ban there IP´s ..... but I dont know the policy on the big A about that.

I hope 2 certain persons out there reads this tread - and learns something..

well this is a thing that is cleared out here in Armorama. Is a site for all people starters, intermidiate, good , better , perfect , professionals.

Every one posts his job and if people like to critisise they do , else they turn the page

If we dont see good work here no one is going to improve. if we see just our level work there is no challenge to learn and try to get better.
Acts like this one , pretend the threatened modeller by someone better are only pooring the Armorama potential and the family atmosphere that runs better than ever this time in Armorama .

Keep on modelling guys and keep on improving . thats the aim and having fun with it is the profit

It's very simple - when someone attacks in this form, it's very obvious you are doing something right.

As a new and (valued) staff-member, you will find that the more efficient you are, the more the idiots are going to try to knock you down.

If you want a good example of this, the contributions made to this site by RobG (Sabot) are enormous. However, there are a group of clowns (you know who you are ) who have done everything possible to ridicule and belittle him. Rob is still on the site as are you....

Unfortunately with the site growing in size, there are always one or two pieces of pondlife who will slip through the net.

To these low-lifes, can I make a request? Please just leave the rest of us alone... Jim

Perhaps they missed the description of the forum:

"A forum to submit in-progress pictures of your work for constructive criticism by site members. Newcomers to this forum should read this. If you need help with posting images please click here. PLEASE DO NOT POST SIMPLE CONGRATULATORY REMARKS OR THEY WILL BE REMOVED!"

It says constructive for tose that missed it.

What those kids sent you was immature Bryan, but hey, what comes around goes around... and I hope they get their upcumance!

Well, first I'm going to admit: I have been this kind of person. I wasn't the person who sent you the e-mail, because I haven't seen your Sherman, and I wouldn't anyway. Anyway, I've been judgemental; I've been quick to point out people's and their works flaws. I don't why I do it. Perhaps I substitute arrogance for confidence. If you don't believe me, check here:
https://armorama.kitmaker.net/forums/19621&page=1 Some people here may remember that. Now, as for those e-mailers, just remind them this: "Judge not lest ye be judged." I always try to think of that whenever I'm going to say something. Thanks for your time.

I don't know who may have sent you emails but I certainly hope it was not a veteran poster. I can't see that in anyone I have dealt with for the last year. Over at Missing Links a few months back a bunch of jerk trolls just started posting crap, trashing other people's work telling everyone who builds models to get a life and emailing similar message. Basically they were just out to cause trouble.

I don't know what makes me feel worse, a veteran poster who disrespects another member or a bunch of yahoos ruining the site.

p.s. if admin wants a smilie face with a pacifier emote i think i have one on my pc at home i can offer up for the emoticon library . seems like that one would be appropriate for the senders of the emails

Bryan, pay no attention to these cowardly clowns. Its obvious that they are to ashamed of there own actions to even post their opinions in the forums. I like your Firefly so much I printed a picture of it and stuck it in my DML firefly kit for future reference. Keep up the good work and I hope your next work is twice as good, That would really #**!@# them off.

Bryan
this is a cowardly situation i get this all the time on another site where poeple actually judge your workand score it 1-10
i often get stupid remarks and degrading e-mails and p.m.'s etc
it is perhaps the one thing that really annoys me more than anything else in this world (i'm a pretty jolly chap ) :-) mate i love your work and i love the work of all others on this site to me this is modelling at its best (this is going to sound like i'm blowing my own trumpet but its the only way i could think of to put it sorry guys )
i consider myself to be a fairly accomplished modeller and i posses many skills that have been hard earned ,over my 25 year modelling carer, and believe me mate i was BAD when i first started ,even now i know there isnt anything i'm totally profficient in ,
there is always room to learn a little more each day .
i marvel at this site and the ability of its members .all of them !
from the guy who started a week ago to the modeller with 60+ years under his belt (who ever you are) :-) everyone has a whole lot to learn from each other .i always make a point of not degrading others work EVER .
and only to give pointers and encouragement .
and i'll be there to congratulate the better modeller .
it saddens me when this happens its a pitty they dont see things like the majorty of us ,
i hope they get to reading these posts and realise how ridiculous they are and an apology would be nice ? .keep posting the excellent stuff Bryan and all here at the big A , everyday i still find out something new here, and models to marvel at ,my hat is deffinitley off to all modellers here, and those who have the zeal to exhibit thier work everywhere for the world to see !

when i read your post , i had a look at your gallery pics, now i don't really build armour, im a wingy thingy guy but when i see stuff thats really nicely done (like yours) i don't instantly think 'i could never do something that good' i think 'how did he do THAT and can i do it as well?' and usually a PM or post to people on here will give me the advice on new techniques ect. on the other hand i have given people advice myself that i hope is as useful as the advice i have had. quite simply its a two way street. im going to finish this bottle of wine now ( thats my excuse for any bad grammer on this post) so just KEEP ON ROCKING!

I have been reading this thread with interest and pride. Everyone here is supporting Bryan and everyone else too. It's great to know there is such support.

I wonder if the emailers have been reading this thread, it would be an eye opener.

Keep on building Bryan

The others have pretty much said it all. However, I might suggest that the staff identify the offenders and "Section 8" them off the site. Then maybe others will consider the consequences before they insult their fellow members.

I would also like to add that they be given a REALLY embarrassing title. That's what I do to the trolls on my forums. They quickly stop posting when they get titles they don't like, and the old posts are there for everyone to laugh at
