Finally got round to it,five days,FIVE! bloody days without a ciggy,so coming up to Xmas i am not feeling very sodding charitable, bah humbug, burn Santa Bloody Clause's beard, and put itching powder in his wellies,so if some of my posts do not sound like my usual angelic and saintly self, raise your glasses at the bar,or at home on a Friday night, and give this toast,HERE TO YA! YA miserable bugger, you shouldn't have started in the first place :-)
yours in misery

Good if you can get past the 'cold turkey' stage - me, I just carry on smoking!

If you really want to quit you will. I have been smoke free for 5 years now. It is easier to start that quit but I know that you will succeed.

Good luck. I quit for 2 years about five years ago. Then I started again. Worst thing I have ever done. (well, one of the worst) I chewed a lot of that nicotine gum. That really seemed to help.

Hang in there, General Ritchie, it only hurts for a little while...even though I've been smoke free for years, the desire just never seems to go away...But, your lungs will definately thank you after a little while...But that doesn't stop the pain though, does it!!?!! Curse the bloody things, once and for all!!

In a few years, when you're NOT laying in a bed with tubes up your nose, struggling to breathe, you'll be thankful for this transition. Hang in there, amigo. Keep your fingers busy with plastic and resin and PE.

Good on you!! Keep it up. I know how tough it is....I smoked for 35 years, and just tossed them away 7 years ago. I still get the urge occasionally, but I will never smoke again! Good luck. :-)

Hang in there Arthur. In the end cigs are nothing but trouble so what you are doing will be worth the effort.

and put itching powder in his wellies,

Wellies???? Never heard that one, I'll have to write that down. I'm sure that Santa's skivies are involved somehow! :-)

Good for you on your 5 day streak! Don't worry about the grumpy attitude, X-mas isn't all it's cracked up to be anyway. It's nothing a couple of pints won't cure.

Cheers to you!!

Hi Dave my official title, the only one i will own up to is Grandpa Grumps,is one that i am really proud of,after all these years of persistant effort i have been recognised by someone who is proud of her Grandfathers achievment, all i have done is to go that one step further and give up smoking, and become the Grumps supremo,we could be our own band of brothers and put PC into the the touchline :-)

Hi Arthur.

Its been 3 months since my last smoke and I know how you feel. This may sound odd but I found that alwasy keeping a toothpick or straw around to chew on always helped. Once you can get to two weeks its smooth sailing. Hope you stick with it!

Cheers!

Hey Arthur, I know it's hard. I've been trying to quite for awhile now. Now that i'm home 24-7 it seems that i smoke more. During modeling forget it, i burn them up. I do plan to give it another try at the end of the year. So good luck my friend and hope for a smoke free life. If you have any hints and tips that my have helped you please share as i'll need everything under the sun to kick this nasty habbit.

If I quit smoking I'll have to give up drinking. If I give up drinking I'll have to give up smoking. Oh it makes my head hurt trying to figure it out ... guess I'll go have a smoke and drink.

LOL

Well, lets just say that I only know how that addiction is, just not personally. Unfortunately, almost 3/4 of my entire class smokes. Some at least 10 cigarettes a day! I knew it could be addicting, but not that addicting! Anyway, I wish the best of luck, and remember that it's all in your head.

I quite the booze..... 20 years ago.... the local police are still celebrating....... :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)
Matthew if I told you how many packs I smoked a day, you'd have a heart attack..... OH yeah, maybe that's why I had three open hearts........ :-) :-) :-) :-)
At almost 7 bucks a pack, if I don't smoke, I could buy a new resin figure everyday..... maybe even two....... :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)
So far..... this nicotrol stuff is working.... only rough time now.... after 3/4 of a day that is,...... is after I eat.......

Bryan.... watch out for smokers gut...... hell..... I'm already like a bowling ball with legs..... short stubby ones at that!!!!!!

$7.00 a PACK HOLY #%$*

Wish I would quit smoking but in Kentucky you can still buy smokes for about $1.50 a pack and even less per carton. So it makes it hard to part on the money arguement.
