I just wondered how many of our members have artistic bents in the direction of music.?
How many play or sing and what do you play and sing?

We do need a new cyber band in the bar...
Auditions are under way....

Oh...who me?....I can crack glass and sour milk at 100 paces if I utter a noise anything like a singing attempt.
Instument...I can turn any musical instrument into one of torture...LOL.

Emily on the other hand vwas a professional singer, so at least someone in the family can make a decent noise...

Cheers
Peter

Well Henk...
looking at the last band in the cyber bar, you banging on upturned pots could make you the star turn.

Autographs at the stage door..

I'm a drummer. I've been in bands for the last 40 years. Mostly bar bands. It's gone a long way to finance my other hobbies. Right now I'm in a garage band. We play about once a week. Most of us are "retired" from working bands. We play everything from The Beatles to OutKast (sp?) Whatever floats our boat at the time.

I was instructed not to sing at school but mime the words during assembly so my voice probably isn't that good however I did learn the piano on a paper keyboard we outlined in our books and then sung the notes so my piano isn't that good either.I would however gladly join a thrash metal barber shop quartet or any sought of tet for that matter. No wonder I 've been a life long fan of Frank Zappa

I used to play the drums... does that count? I am still coordinated enough to keep a beat and I do still own a pair of drum sticks (oh, the poor furniture).

The fame, fortune and most important, the chicks never materialized so I gave up life on the road when Ma called me down for supper. :-) :-)

This is 1/2 of the band almost 38 years ago and at age 13... Dig those crazy threads... :-)

I am a rock star... lol

For my sins, I've never quite got over my dreams of a career in music - so I'll definitely audition for rhythm guitar and occasional vocals in the Cyber Band!

All the best

I always wanted to be the next Jimmy Page. I have the Les Paul but not the talent. Sometimes it sounds really righteous, usually it just sounds like din.

Well...
things ARE coming together...lol.

We've got loads of percussion, a few guitarists, keyboards and the seed of a brass section....sounds like a possible Chicago Transit Authority retake....now where can we ship in the talent to scare Robert Lamm....lol???

Cheers

Another drummer!
I played in 2 bands ... the first being a thrash metal band .. double bass drums and 5 mounted toms!
Played live 3 times supporting other local bands ... thrash wasn´t the "in-thing" at the time. Setting that kit up in small clubs could be compared to rubix cubes or similar .. nearly impossible.
Then I joined another band.. playing drums. We gigged 2 to 4 times a week, in pubs and partys around north west Ireland and ocasionally Northern Ireland. Great fun... and 90% of the money was spent on beer.

Sold the drum kit when I moved to Sweden. I sang in garage band for a few months. 2 Icelandic girls (drums and bass) and Swedish guy on guitar. Made a demo tape and fell out!
Now my singing is only heard at partys after X pints of Guiness! :-)

So it was a real band then...
the other 10% was just enough for a Chinese on the way home?

I played the Trumpet all through my school years and still have it around. I also play some guitar now and then. I received a harmonica from my son for Christmas so I am giving that a whirl. As far as singing goes.......have you ever heard a pig squealing because it got stuck in the muck????
