This is really a stupid topic but I can't help it. I'm also not sure if this is in the right forum.

What do you usually eat while you model....or when you take a break from modeling which I do? What music do you listen to?

I usually eat a bowl of Garden Fresh Salad when I take a break.Or a couple of Oat Bran doughnuts. For drinks, I drink a cold mocha.

Of course, I eat away from my modeling table.

But I do listen to music while modeling. I listen to Enya music or alternative rock for inspiration.

I never eat while I model, too much hazardous materials around. Even for a drink I leave my modelling place, one moment of ignorance and you end up drinking thinner. Don't laugh... a friend of mine once drank white spirit with white paint. He had a glass of milk and a glass container with the white spirit in which he had cleaned of white paint. He was thirsty and saw something white in a glass from the corner of his eye, reached out and ended up drinking the white spirit. Result: bloodpoisoning and a week hospital... No thanks.

No music, but I do like to model with the TV on. Yup, weird I know.

Hi...
music...rock, blues or jazz in any combination.

Food....don't usually eat and model since that chocolate biscuit and a strange shade of braunviolett on my aircraft camo.

Cheers

i just tune in to my local radio station for music

for food and drinks...well...i am fully aware of the hazards cos you could mistook one of those paints/thinners for your drink!!

I often listen to classical music, when modeling. It is not very easy to do detail painting when headbanging to Metalica.

No food when modeling, but I alway have a cup of tea when modeling.

Never eat while modelling. The grease gets into the work. You might also make a mistake in dipping your chips in glue. Or you might pick a part from the sprue thinking it was chips or a part of your sandwich.

Music is a different thing; we've got the Clash and the boomtown rats and whatever on ordinary days and on Fridays, Sundays and any other Catholic holidays I've got all sorts of classical music compilation especially chorale music.

MmmmmmmSprue chips and putty dip , yum!
LOL, no, I dont eat while I build. I do drink coffee or a soda depending on what time of day I build. As for music, 70's and 80's rock&roll.

Cheers,

I avoid eating while modelling, for health and avoidance of sticky fingers. Actually it would probably be a good idea if I cut out eating and just built models for a while :-)

Usually I model with the TV on, until my girlfriend compares about the swearing anyway. On the other hand at least modelling stops me talking at the TV, which drives my girlfriend up the wall.

As for music - REM, The Only Ones (now I've found where I put the tapes), Garbage, Bjork, Cure and whatever else is in the pile of 70s/80s stuff.

Like most modellers I tend not too eat at the modelling tray/desk. On my breaks though it's no holds barred... I have an unfortunate addiction to junk food in particular... healthy i know... :-)

I don't have any "rules" as to drinking at the workstation... everything from water to coffee to the nectar of the gods... beer

Try not to have the telly on when modelling (except if there is a F1 GP on) as provides an easy distraction.

Mostly listen to alternative rock, or (like Angela) Enya when I really need to concentrate. only rule with music is NO BOY BANDS!!!!!!!

No food, a beer once in a while. I listen to whatever is playing on the TV if it's on. I am usually to engaged with building/painting to pay attention to what's playing anyway.

Eating while you model? now that is something I never thought about, I usually drink water while modelling, and coffe, or maybe I eat a chocolat very slowly, aids in concentration.

No, it isn't easy, but besides that, headbanging music is so stressing when you need to sit down and relax.

I couldn't imagine eating food while working on a model, with trying to keep it as clean as possible, for gluing, and painting. I do chew some tobacco, and after I put a pinch under my lip, I wash my hands then start working on the model.

I tried lisening to music, but I found myself trying to keep up with the beat, so now I just turn on the TV to have some background noise, and if something sounds interesting, I hang up the model for a while and go out and watch the program, oh I do keep a pitcher of water with me, when I get thirsty.

That would be considered my diet as well! I usually keep a bottle of water handy as well! Thirsty work!
Funny to see so many Enya fans. She also comes from Donegal in Ireland!

Nothing is as good as having Dropkick Murphys Playing loud on the background while modeling
. On the other hand I can feel just as good when I play Everlast or one of the 400 other Cd`s I have. All music I like to hear and wich I can listen to anytime. No food in my modeling corner, for a drink I go downstairs (my room is in the attic) and for a smoke I go outside.

I usually eat something sweet, like M&Ms and drink water or lots of Coke. So I guess my dentist could thank modeling for business!
