Hello all, my name is Joe Szczygiel. For those who are not polish, last name sounds like the bird "seagull". I'm fourty something y/o, and i'm a disabled union iron worker out of local #6 in Buffalo, NY. Fell one floor down off an i-beam. Two surgerys later, i'm now pensioned out. Enlisted the Army national guard in the fall of 79 as a 12b. Moved over to a infantry company in 83. In 1990 went to OCS to earn my 2lt bars. My wife Maryann and i have been married for 24 years now, and we have five wonderful children ( one married, three moved out and one living at home) and two grandchildren. I'v been modelling the past 30 years on and off, but more on now sence the accident. The best part is that my wife don't mind that i spend hours at a time and for days on end building models. She says, I'm out of her hair. One more thing i'd like to add, this site is great, i mean everyone is so helpful in every way possible. And thats way this site is only the BEST.

Hello Joseph. Its sad to have health problems in life , but my view is that life is so small that anyone who is alive, has an "obligation" to suck the juices of it anyway.
So real warm welcome to Armorama. I hope that u find a good hug here, lots of helping hands in every theme, and your experience will be valuable here also.
Have a nice time and Greetz from Greece

Hello, Joe.. Greetings from Pennsylvania...

Welcome to what I also feel is the best site on the net!
Sorry to hear of your health problems, hope things get better for you...I'm in the construction business myself, can be very dangerous...but at least you have a great pastime, something that we all love to do...It's also great that your wife doesn't mind being a "Model Widow ". Mine is also just as understanding, thankfully!

Sincerely,
Gunny

Welcome, mother.

Well, as you probably already know, this is a great site. I just started modeling about 4 or 5 months ago since having dabbled in it during childhood. My skills and knowledge of modeling techniques, history and all kinds of stuff has grown exponentially since finding Armorama. Glad your here!

Hi Joe

It's great to say "welcome aboard" to someone whose article I've just published! (I hope I didn't butcher it too much...)

Diving straight in with a Feature is a truly outstanding way of joining up! Great job, and I look forward to many more hints and tips from you.

Great to have you with us

Welcome Joe -
Just joined up myself about a week ago and already have had enough inputs, etc from the fantastic people who are associated with this site to have ideas for half dozen projects. I'm an "older" modeler myself with grown kids and just getting back into modeling seriously again after several years. Anxious to findout your interests and hear more. Hope to "see" you in the Dioramas and Armor Forums. WAgain great to have you around,

Mike ("Blade48mrd")

So Joseph or should I say Józef welcome to Armorama.

Hey, so really...how Polish are you? Are you 100% Polish, 75% Polish, 50% Polish, 25% Polish or just have Polish last name? Why am I asking? No reason really. Just curious.
