Correct
In the declaration of war against Russia in 1853 Queen Victoria signed on behalf of “Great Britain, Ireland, Berwick-upon-Tweed and all British Dominions", but in the 1856 peace treaty, Berwick was left out.
In 1966 a formal peace treaty was signed!

During the Malaya campaign of 1941, what was the most common form of transport for the Japanese troops?

Bit of a wild guess: Walking?
Or maybe something weird and unexpected, like Red London Double Deckers?? :-) :-)

The bicycle is correct, the Japanese divisions were equipped with about 18,000 bicycles. Whenever the invaders encountered resistance, they detoured through the forests on bicycles or took to the sea in collapsible boats to outflank the British troops, encircle them, and cut their supply lines.

You mean besides showing everybody that he kept his word and returned?
Wasn't it originally Luzon, before being changed to Leyte?

The first objective was the capture of Leyte, an island situated between Luzon and Mindanao. So Leyte was 1st and your question Rodger.

I'm not sure you understood my reply, I was saying that I thought they originally planned to land on Luzon, not Leyte. I'll throw one out though.
Change of pace. The first major use of Battlecruisers in WWI was by the British who used them to revenge the disaster at the Battle of Coronel. (sp?) This 2nd battle place where?

Martin has it.
The Battle of the Falklands. The RN suffered it's worse naval loss in 100 years at the Battle of Coronel where German Admiral Graf Spee with armored cruisers Scharnhorst and Gneisenau (hmmm do those three names sound familiar to WWII buffs?) sank two British armored cruisers. Stung by this loss the British sent two Battlecruisers and some other cruisers to the south Atlantic. When the German squadron arrived at Port Stanley to destroy the coaling station there they realized they faced an overwhelming force. The running gun battle that ensued had the British destroying the the German force.
If anybody is interested I recommend the book Revenge at Sea, if you can find it.
Your turn Martin.
