I saw this new forum and couldn't wait to post in it Well, I might as well start a topic off. What is your favorite era to do in models? Oh, and anyone else from the Arkansas area here?

I would have to say wwI is the best, there may be a shortage of kits, but there is tons of paint schemes, and almost all are unique to that build. :-)

Definatley the modern era. So much stuff to pick from and not 3 models of every variant like in WWII era which makes for unique builds.

I like to model the Nam era. There's not too big of a shortage on kits. It also isn't as popular as W.W.II, so I feel I can do things that nobody else has tried to do. I just find that era the most interesting to learn about.

Who says you're not a Hoosier?! Those evil IU Fans have gotten to you, haven't they?! Oh, and I think there's about a dozen or so Hoosiers on the "Big A". Peacemaker: I think it's a bit of a drive for any meetings, at least for models. Of course, Armorama is one giant never-ending party! ....Er...meeting........ . Thanks for your time.

Definately WWII for me. 98.5% of all I do is that era, with slight deviations into subjects that catch my interest.

Born: Stevens Point, WI

College: Univ. Notre Dame, Notre Dame, IN

Reside: Glen Ellyn, IL

So, it's been Midwest for me, all the way.

Cheers,
Mike

I am yet another Indy modeler. Try IPMS Roscoe Turner for meetings, but you would have to drive from Bloomington to the eastside of INdy for that. They also put on a killer regional every spring. Go to their website for dates as it has changed a little every year.

My favorite is WWII, followed by modern/Arab-Israeli conflicts. I will also dabble in the Korean conflict.

In Marion here IndyCopper. I have been the the Turner contest about three times and they are great. I am in the same boat as Peacemaker as far as meeting attendance goes. Too far to drive for the meeting to either Fort Wayne or Indy. Almost exactly half way between both on I 69.

Shaun

Oh, and since I did not mention it earlier I will build anything that sits in the mud...

Always room at the table for friends from armorama. No need to call the tower just take a N/NE approach and bring that paper mache coffin in hot with the tail up. The drop your revs til the skid hits the tarmac. We'll wingwalk ya in. No worries.

Hey Animal, welcome back! How did the dedication go?

It was a fantastic time. I met the heirs to the 8th Group commander Col; Joe Bellino. His son and Daughter were there at the dedication. The new Vietnam Wing was named after Co. Bellino.I received the Commandants coin for the diorama. I have posted some photos in my gallery for those who may be interested in viewing them. I was able to see and talk to a lot of my Bro's from Nam for the first time in over 35 years. It was a great time had by all. If any of you get the chance to get to Newport News(Norfolk) VA. stop by the Museum. You will be supprised by all that they have to offer. It is at teh Ft. Eustis Post but it is open to the general public. I have been commissioned to do another diorama for William Seay(another Medal of Honor winner)Spc. Seay was a truck driver in 1968 in the southern region of Vietnam. The same area where I was assigned and he was killed in the same area where I was wounded.
