I'm fortunate that I build mostly WWII armor and aircraft. There is such a great variety of kits and reference material available. I do some Sci-fi. Although I'm from the great Commonwealth of Pennsylvania (Pittsburgh area...GOOOOOOOO STEELERS!), I was at the Hobbytown USA in Omaha recently and picked up the AMT/Ertl 1/ 32 "Starwars: Episode I Podracer" for $5.75. If you live in the Omaha area you've got to go to the new Hobbytown. They have a huge section of discounted stuff from 25-90% off!

Favorite era: Dubya Dubya Eye Eye

I grew up an Army brat -- so I lived all over the place, but I consider myself to be a Wisconsinite. I was born in Oshkosh, lived in Berlin when Dad was in Nam, went to high school in Green Bay, went to college at the UW-Oshkosh, worked for a few years at the Oshkosh Correctional Insitution before taking my current position in America's Heartland (Kansas). If an appropriately-graded federal job in my specialty ever opens up in Wisconsin, I'll move back in a heartbeat.

MJ -- Been to the Point many times and almost took a job at the university there a few years back. My family has some deer hunting land in Portage County over toward Waupaca. Now your down living with the FIBs?

LOL - yup, and don't think I don't hear about it when I visit home. Fortunately, there are a lot of Packer fans hiding out in the western suburbs of Chicago, so I know I am not alone. :-) :-)

Cheers,
Mike

I don't know if I have a favorite era, but then again I'm part brain dead, and the other part is damaged. LOL
I actually have always just built models that I found interesting, or challenging. Right now, I enjoying taking eastern european kits and building them, Not being a rivet counter, I do not profess to be an expert in anything, I simply aim to improve the kits appearance, and details. I swing from WWI bi-plane to modern jets, and inbetween. Armour/softskins is the same way, WWI to modern. For myself this has always been a hobby, and a way to relax, and pass time (I build mostly at work, I have a none exciting job, I baby sit boilers, work a rotating shift, and mangement knows of my model building at night, I do most of my finishing at home) My prefered scale is armour/softskins/figures 1/35, aircraft 1/48 or 1/72. I actually went to college for a few years, major was fine art, but never finished, but apply what I learned to my hobby.
