I have seen a lot of models and figures depicting almost all wars/campaigns imaginable in this site and others as well. But the Korean war seem to be a dry well. Despite it being a more "righteous/just war" than Vietnam.

Maybe it really is a forgotten war. Even research materials is few. Photos are even fewer. The Korean war is the only foreign war my country participated in in combat, yet even we don't recognize it too well.

Maybe some of us could make a tribute or something.

OH, I agree, that's why it has always been called the "Forgotten War", fought by "Forgotten Warriors".

I also agree perhaps a campaign for the "Forgotten War" would be a good idea.

The campaign would be a good idea.

Wasn't it in the Korean War that the first jet age dogfights were fought?

Also the use of helicopters?

Who has information on the types of armors used by the participating counties?

As far as I know the PEFToK's 10thBCT used the M24 Chafee and the Willys' jeep.

More important of all is M*A*S*H*!

i am sure you guys were in vietnam too bro

Yes we were. We sent the PhilCAG to Vietnam. Mostly engineers, medical corps and radio operators for the VOA. The madate of this group was not to engage the enemy directly but psy-ops and hearts and minds.

Korea was the only foreign land we went to for actual combat. We tried to releive the beseiged Glosters.

Most of the standard armor book companies have "Armor of the Korean War" issues like Squadron/Signal, Concord, Osprey Vanguard, etc.

This was the time when US armor really came of age. The Shermans were being phased out and the appearance and dominance of the main battle tank (M26-M46) occurred.

Wow, my first Campaign, so to speak.
ummm lets see, hows this
Any scale, Single models, Vigenettes or Dioramas.
No contest element, just pure fun, with a ribbon at the end, But how does everyone feel about the time limit, i personally feel time limits are way to long and everyone is usually done way before its over, hows 3 months?
cheers everyone whose interested let me know in here.

A.There NEEDS to be a contest element, like a different ribbon, or it does not become a campaign.

B.Long time limits are especially good, that way, everyone who had a glimmer of interest, can join later if they want, and finish on time. try more like 8 or 9 months.

Righteo guys sorry about that, should have read the Campaign rules first ey! Ok so, Airwarrior i have a question for you, what is considered a "contest element"?
Now i will fill in a Campaign form as soon as we have all sorted out a few things.

(b)#1-(b)what is the contest element going to be

(b)#2-(b)we need 10 people that are willing to join FOR SURE, so far we have Mondo, Ahueger, Shonen-red, Blaster76 and Husky1943, Is this correct? if so we still need 5 more people, comon guys!

(b)#3-(b)the Campain will be called Remember Korea, is this ok? any objections?

(b)#4-(b) the length will be 4 months starting from August, so thats from August till November, i figure thats plenty of time, again if any objects just let me know.

Ok, so, i will await your responses, and please, moderators, do not move this thread, could you all kindly leave it in here, so people will know where to find it easier, cheers, thanks

Remember Korea is great. I'd go for that.

Didn't DML release some korean war 1/35 figures?

It would be nice if some of us could share some research photos. I have none myself.

WOW MONDO YOUR PSYCHIC! :-)
sorry about that, i was going to try and correct my (b) things before anyone noticed, but yes, DML released 1 set of Us G.I.'s (pusan perimeter 1950)
and 2 sets of Chinese Volunteers, 1 of which was an AA team with a tripod mounted DShK, they have also released numerous tanks from the korean war.
Personally i plan on doing something Australian...like a brave digger from the 6th boomerang throwers regiment :-) no i think i will build a diorama, hey maybe a few.
Oh yeah, lets make it we can build as many entries as you like!

(and yes i did just make that rule to suit myself but hey im sure you guys have more than 1 thing planned if youre already interested) cheers!C[ ]

the contest element is something that makes it more competitive. You want this to be very minimal in contest and focus on the "fun factor". I would suggest the bare minimum, like a different color ribbon to the top place winners. How these would be decided is the next question.

I have seen references that put the M41 Walker Bulldogs in Korea also. And wouldn't you know I am already building one. I started to soon, or this is starting too late.
