Hi there Carl

It's the SBD-5 - the kit decals are for 2 aircraft aboard the USS Lexington at Tarawa, Nov 1943.

I must say I'm surprised by the overwhelming vote for the Dauntless, but GREAT!! It's a wonderful kit I've always meant to build, but never got 'round to... which is what this build is all about... .

The only "dodgy" area looks to be the perforated dive-flaps, which aren't well moulded at all, so I may get a get a photo-etched set to replace them ( or drill an awful lot of holes in plastic card )

Still... there's plenty of time for one of the other kits to overtake the Dauntless in the vote...

All the best

Hi Rowan,

Thanks for the long list. I was typing in my list late Tuesday night when I hit a wrong key, and off to cyberspace it went. I had a TDY trip on Wednesday and just returned, so my long list will go in later today.

I'd like to see the XP-55. Now there's one cool looking plane
