SR: Sure. Let's do the meet on a weekend. I'll bring the Tiger I, figs, accessories/spares, and your drill bits.
Cbrain21: Please, don't call me a master because I ain't one.

About the resin, I get it from a family friend who is in the fibreglass business. P98 for 1-litre clear resin, and P17 for 200cc (I think it's 200cc) resin catalyst.
I dunno about Buck, but I prefer using aluminum strips from aluminum food containers for straps et. al. attaching them with superglue. Pla Plate is sold at JMN, the price varies with the thickness of the plate you need, i.e. the thicker it is, the more expensive it is.

JMN has several Mi-24 Hinds in varying scales. Two from Revell Germany (1/72 and 1/48 I think) and one from Tamiya (1/48 I think). I think - not sure - that there's also a Hasegawa kit. Try contacting Natalie via email.

Even Revell's 1/72 Hind is very similar to Tamiya's variant with different decal sheets lang. Crap din.

Does anyone know WHAT KIND of store sells RTV and resin? I found transparent resin in hardware stores but does these work for modeling?
If someone knows a store in Cebu where I can find RTV and casting resin, that would be great.
I don't want to deal with stupid people working in the hardware who doesn't know what RTV or Room Temperature Vulcanizing rubber is. So, what should I tell those people so that they will recognize its RTV?
Thanks in advance.

Angela,
Re: resin, I order my resin from a family friend. It's clear (pinkish in color, but clear - when cured, it's clear). I have used it numerous times, including for hobby purposes. So, yes, it is suitable for models.
Don't underestimate the knowledge of the 'old-timers' at the hardware store. Who knows, maybe they know what RTV is. It doesn't hurt asking them.
There are several types of RTV available. The most common ones are the gasket-type RTV. 'Gasket-type' because it's used to seal gaskets. This kind of RTV comes in a tube (like toothpaste) and no need for mixing. However, it doesn't cure fast and emits a pungent smell because of the acetic acid. For small molds, this is fine.
The other type of RTV (the preferred one) has its own catalyst and needs mixing. I forgot the brand or formula of the RTV I use, but ask your hardware (the one that also sells the resin) about RTV with catalyst. Description would be "It's like liquified rubber, needs catalyst to harden". If you know a fibreglass shop/works, then they probably have some resin and RTV.
Otherwise, your best bet would be taking out the Yellow/White Pages and looking up the chemical factories in your area for RTV. (Dow Corning is the brand, preferably).

Thanks GI.
I just got frustrated over so many people who don't know what styrene is when in fact, their company advertises that they sell plastic.
That's why I get the impression that hardware people won't know what RTV is.
Anyway, thank you very much. I'll try to check the hardware store tomorrow.

Hi Beans! Have you checked STC? They have lots of Dragon models there. As for the Italeri Sherman, try Accurate at Southmall, or any of the Lils branches (Megamall or Parksquare) since last I heard they re-stocked on Italeri kits.

As for AM parts of the JS-3, I seem to recall that STC has some indy tracks for the JS-3. The individual link tracks are by Armour Track Models. I've had experienced with using that brand (you've seen it in the Challenger 2 I'm building) and I'm very pleased with ATM. It'll cost heavily though - P999.99.

That's nice to hear, I got my M4A2 just yesterday-yay, but that just drained my wallet., In what branch of STC did you see the JS tracks. -for P999 that would be a steal compared to the Fruilmodels + shipping to our side of the globe, but still, that's a pretty hefty price for tracks. Would you also happen to know the phone number of STC -thanks

I'm looking for a Fine Needle (F) for a Badger 150 airbrush. I already checked with St. Patrick's, Derovir and M. Enriquez, they do not have any of the "F" Needles in stock.
Thanks!
