What AB are you using?

Ang ginagawa ko muna is to add the dominant color then drop by drop yung mixing color until it matches.
Try this technique: (enamels gamit ko nito)
1. Add thinner to the mixing pallete
2. Add the dominant color
3. Add the mixing color
4. Mix together and dilute with thinner
5. Pour EVERYTHING to the bottle
Ok, diluted sya? Wait for an hour or so until some thinner dry up. I've tried this once on my red-brown paint and it looks A-ok. Kailangan mo nga lang ng patience dito. That way, di masasayang yung paint, thinner nga lang problema mo.
Hope this helps
PS, do not return used paint unless you'll use that bottle as another color (e.g red, tapos ginawa mong red brown yung whole container.)
The mixing isn't the problem itself kasi.... since I still don't mix colors for now. What my problem is yung paglipat nga nang paint from bottle A to bottle B. Most of the paint just sticks to the wall of the bottle.... tapos lilinisan mo na ng thinner. Sayang diba? This was never a problem for me kasi dati pag brush painting lang.... straight from the bottle ko na lang dini-dip yung brush. Pero pag airbrushing you need some amount of paint (approx. Tapos after painting pag hindi mo naubos you have to pour it somewhere and clean the bottle para makagamit ka nga ng ibang color.

Here's something I learned from "Beakman's World" (or "Newton's Apple" - can't remember. Many moons ago):
As you will see, the stick forms a path for the liquid to flow on to (something to do with surface tension - forgot my physics). Thus, the liquid will not cascade on the source bottle's undersides but on the stick to the other bottle. If your hands are steady, you won't experience any spillage.
That's what I do.... but still meron pa rin naiiwang paint sa first bottle.... lalo na pag hindi gaanong diluted yung paint mixture. It's a good technique though to avoid spillage.

As for the paint jars, if your AB is Gunze, the Gunze paint bottles can fit on the Gunze's color bottle cap with siphon. For other ABs, there are two different sized bottles with screw caps available at National Bookstore, art section. These cost around P20 IIRC.
Yan!

Another is to rig up a "quick install" paint jar by using clear film cannisters, some brass or metal tubes, solder or epoxy putty. Just make two holes on the film's cap (one small one for the air's entry, one big one which the siphon assembly will be placed). (see diagram below)
The siphon is plastic tubing which is available at most hardware stores or you can just transfer the siphon from the original jar to the homemade one. This little project I got from IPMS-Sweden I think.
Hmn, mukhang okay ito for acrylic paints.... pwede rin kaya 'to sa lacquers? Hindi ba matutunaw yung plastic? Another friend of mine suggested din yung mga empty Gerber bottles.... sino jan may baby? Penge ng Gerber....

Cbrain: If that's the case, it's a simple matter of just adding the appropriate thinner (i.e. enamel for enamel, etc.), shaking it, and pouring it into the new bottle, using a stick to wipe the remaining paint to the other bottle. Besides, paint consistency for ABs is rougly 50:50 paint and thinner mixture, so if it's thin it's ok.
Gunze ABs are available at STC. Two flavors - the Pro-Spray series (which are SA-type ABs) and the Procyon series (DA-type ABs).

I passed by Nat'l. Bookstore in Festival a while ago (lunch) and asked about those paint bottles..... 'lo and behold! They have it.... but at what cost? PhP 96.00.... DAMN! It's an empty bottle pero mas-mahal pa siya sa isang bote ng Gunze paint!

Sorry, I'm using all my Tamiya a/b's. What do you mean "sasabog ang a/b mo?" What brand are you using? Could I interest you in a rarely used Badger?
I use my a/b on all kinds of paint.

4-eyes, you're selling a Badger? Which one? Is it Gravity fed? I need to find a cheap grav fed AB. (Yeah, I know, I got 2 Badgers already - SAAB and DAAB).
