Just picked up Realistic water C1211, haven't tried it yet but will be using it for the Helo Campaign. Doesn't even smell bad, 16 oz ,473.2 ml bottle says it will cover a 14", 35.5 cm circle 1/8", .25 cm thick. No mixing, no heat, clean up with water. They also have a product for waterfall construction I may try later.

CRS, one thing you might want to keep in mind that this is a self-leveling product which means you can basically forget about creating ripples. I tried three times to make small waves in a dio I was making. Every time I made a wave, even though it seemed like it was gong to keep shape, it would flatten. I could never get it to a point where it would keep shape.

Hi CRS
I've looked at stuff like that and always assumed it must be PVA adhesive (or similar). It'll be good to know what it really is and read your opinion on how it works... :-)
All the best

Marty,
Maybe the c1212 product will make waves and ripples?
Have you used the EZ Water ? I'm kind of afraid of it, I'm not much of a cook.

crs, That Realisitc Water is great stuff! Very easy to use. The other item you referred to is Water Effects, I think. Also very easy to use. Here is a pic of a dio I built using both. If it doesn't work, the pic is in the gallery. HTH

Thanks Robert, that's what I'm looking for; the effect and easy to use.
Great Dio looks like "down home"

If you are only looking for small ripples, a good tip is use superglue gel for these. Pour your water and when dry create the little ripples with the glue and a cocktail stick. No need to spend much time perfecting them. Just make a semi-circle and make little peaks on this. Then use future or gloss varnish over the top. Remember to fix your river bed first. Add stones, rocks, branches etc, and even paint a coat of gloss varnish tinted with a dark green on the bottom. This stuff pours pretty clear! Here is my water feature using the glue ripples. I used lots of layers of varnish instead for easy water! See at the water at the back where there is no ripples for comparison.

Realistic Water is basically acrylic gloss medium.
I used it for the water in a Viking Ship diorama which can be seen in my Yahoo photo album here.
