I do have another problem and I was told to post this here.

I still can't access the Contributor's Forum and the contributor's medal hasn't shown up next to my name. I know that everyone is busy with the new server and everything. I just thought I would mention it.

Thanks,

HARV

I hope this is a problem concerned with upgrade and not my lack of experience on the site, apologies if it is me.

When trying to upload images I get the following(in red):

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 2304 bytes) in/home/kitmaker/gallery/image-inc.php on line 116

On the indicator it shows far more green than than red, having only submitted 4 images.

The disk space does not seem to add up either:

disk space allowed 5120kb (5,242,880 bytes)
disk space used 10513,687kb (10513687 bytes)
disk space remaining 4719kb (4832403 bytes)

Help would be appreciated

This is actually a very common problem on a lot of sites using linux/php. Your image is probably very high-resolution and large in file size. This causes a problem when trying to resize. Sadly there is little to nothing I can do about this as we are already at 32MB for running PHP processes (which is the high range for most servers).

Thanks,
Jim

Im getting the same error message and the photos Im trying to upload are only 80-90KB in size!
Any ideas?

Hi Nigel,
What resolution are the images? Keep in mind that an image of a black and white photo that might be 3200 x 2800 might be very small in overall size but very large for re-sizing dynamically on the server. If the photos are 800 x 600, 100kb in size and formatted as RGB images than they should definitely never result in this error message though.

Also as a side note (from that error message) you may not be fully logged in on the gallery site. Make sure you see a message that says "Welcome Lampie" somewhere on the homepage. The "upload photos" link (and page) appears for users whether you are logged in or not (bug).

Thanks,
Jim

is 800X600 RGB the best size for picture uploads then?

how does the dynamic resizing work exactly? I am curious about optimizing my photos before I post them here.

Jim, the images were in Jpg format.
Ive managed to upload them now but I could only do this one at a time. Any more and I got the same error message.
Speaking of error messages, Ive just tried to post the related news article, and all I get is...

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/kitmaker/public_html/modules/NS-Admin/tools.php on line 29 DB ERROR: can not add story
Program: /home/kitmaker/public_html/modules/NS-AddStory/admin/modules/stories.php - Line N.: 1501

I hope it means more to you than it does to me

Vance,
When you click over to the gallery you need to be sure you are logged in. If you see "Login" on the upper right you are not logged in. Or if nothing is in the menu bar on the left (My Albums, My Favorites, etc). Login first and see if you have a different experience.

As I have said in other messages the fact that the "Upload Photos" link is showing up on all pages (logged in or not) is a bug and I will be fixing that soon.

My apologies to everyone for the delay. Some of this is taking longer than I had hoped.

Cheers,
Jim

I manage to get one photo uploaded, but now I keep getting the following error

Warning: mysql_fetch_row(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /home/kitmaker/gallery/uploadphoto.php on line 135 Warning: mysql_fetch_row(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /home/kitmaker/gallery/uploadphoto.php on line 583 Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 3200 bytes) in /home/kitmaker/gallery/image-inc.php on line 152

Also, everytime I log in and out of the Gallerys this changes

Disk space allowed on your account: 5,120kb (5,242,880 bytes)
Disk space used on your account: 395,789kb (395789 bytes)
Disk space remaining for your account: 4,734kb (4847091 bytes)

I get differing values in the Disk space used row varying from the above to any thing up to 2 Mb

I need to get some photos up so could someone give me a step by step idioys guide please!!

Not sure if its a bug but new posts sometimes don't show up the tick in the categories or the pink folders for new posts. Yet when I log on other areas of the site it shows all categories and threads as unread.

Sometime back I requested if it was possible for the new posts, etc to be link to the users account rather than the cookies on the PC, as I (like many others might) check the forums from several PC's, not sure if this could be related to tha request

I'm still getting this as well. The site will show new posts/threads the first time I visit each day, but from then on it won't track and highlight new threads and posts. It won't start highlighting again until the next time I shut my PC down for the night, and then start it up again the next day, and then it again only does it the first time.

Just noticed a couple of forum categories on the Bulldogs have some dates and times after them.

eg. Novices & Beginners 2005-12-09 16:50:44 vs 2008-02-15 09:23:54

not sure if this is across all of the sites.

Yes it seems just about all forum categories have this text displayed. Not sure if it is intentional, but it is really distracting.

It's also helping me solve the "new posts" bug.

Does no one use the Latest Posts page anymore?

Can't upload more than 5 photos at a time - photo upload screen only allows for a max of 5 photos to be uploaded at a time. Used to be able to upload 10.

I just tried to place a photo in the White-Washed campaign in my White-Washed PzKpfw 35-H blog and it will not display. I went back and tried it again without any luck. I haven't ever had a problem with this before and I did it the same way I always have.

Not sure what happened.
