Ok, I started this elsewhere sort of impromtu I guess. What are some of the terms/phrases that you have heard either while in service or just around......? It al lstarted with my thought on the word "Hooah".... I'll post a few and all you out there in cyberland can take it from there......ok?

Trigger- Sniper (Actual Shooter)
Spring Loaded in the Dumbass Position
Battle Rattle- LCE/ Helmet etc...
Grunt Stick- Rifle

Easiest of all - FUBAR (F&$*ed-Up Beyond All Recognition). Applies to every service branch, everywhere, all the time...

TEWT - Tactical Exercise Without Troops - which led me to invent this one....
(privates) - Practical Exercise Not Involving Soldiers - You guys figure this one out.

LP/OP - Listening Post/ Observation Post
RTO - Radio Telephone Operator
SITREP - Situation Report

I.D. Ten Tee= idiot
Whitehats=what we used to call garrison MPs, because of their unique headgear
Chairborne Ranger=anyone who works at a desk
Remington Ranger=clerks, so called because of the Remington typewriters they used before computers came into common use
WAG=wild-a** guess
Death by PowerPoint=the current slang for a military briefing, named for the MS program
Big Bedroom=any auditorium or large classroom used for briefings or military classes

Another one is IIRC...

"Q" is the first letter in his last name, most of us military-types that have difficult names have them abbreviated to a letter. I have been LT G (pronounced EL TEE GEE) or Capt. G and now Major G for all of my career.
