OK guys...every time I try to post here it never goes through...I'll try again.

I'm 42 and live in Leavenworth, Kansas. I claim Green Bay, Wisconsin (Go Packers!), as home, but I grew up an Army brat, then enlisted when I was 17. Lived all over the states, visited the rest of it (you can keep the left and right coasts, thank you), as well as a couple tours in Germany before the Wall came down.

Now I'm an Army civilian and am in charge of the post newpaper at Fort Leavenworth, among a few other duties. I've been in all four components of the Army: active, National Guard, Reserve and DA civilian -- oops, still haven't been a contractor (gotta have goals, I guess).

Hmmm..... two people have the minds of 18 year olds. And some people tell me I'm more like 21 than 18. Must be that maturity stuff going on!

Absolutely Tread, The Manor is a popular restaurant, bar, ehh emm, hotel, right off of Rt. 287.

Short Hills is another place I'm very familiar with...very Italian. Did a lot of tile work out there.
Small world...ehh?!

Damnnn, Kenc', I guess it is a small world. Let me think a minute......as I remember Morristown was kind of a 'posh' neighborhood. Are you telling me 'the Manor' still exists? After all this time?
O.K. Here's one you won't know...there used to also be a chain of italian hot dog parlors named 'Jimmy Buff's'. You could literally smell them from 3 blocks away! They would cook these excellent italian sausage andwiches that were cooked in the same hot fat all day long, then mixed with spiced green peppers and onions and served on a half of italian 'wheel' bread....ummmmmm, damn, they'd contain enough colesteral to stop your heart, but I'd kill to eat one of them right now!

Tread.

Man, you and I have to meet someday..... :-)

It seems that I'm the only Polish armor maniac here so far. I'm from Poland, Europe, occupation: archivist.

Wow. When I first saw this forum I had no idea about how many responses there would be! And there's a lot more people than I expected calling from all corners of the world! And to think that two months ago, I was wondering if anyone built models anymoe!!! Heh, I'm sure glad I found the site. Keep those replies coming, I think we've got another 4 pages until this is the longest forum in Armorama history!

I'm 44 and will be 45 in July. I've been building german armor for just over three years now. I'm a Helicopter mechanic for Lockheed Martin (and build armor, go figure huh?). I live in Spring Lake, North Carolina, but spend alot of time on the road inspecting army helicopters. I'm a retired army E-7, spent 15 of my 20 years in Fort Bragg. I have two fine straping young teenage boys (one of whom's room is going to be my future hobby room as soon as I get him to sign the military enlistment papers). My wife dispatches for our local barney fife sherrifs department and I have a boston terrier named "Bandit". That's enough for now. Chris.

I take it he's not a modelbuilder so he would never visit Armorama and see your remark?

Yes Tread, she still stands today...had to call my bro on that one. I've been there many a time...long ago. :-)

Hmmm...Jimmy Buffs' , sounds familiar, but just can't picture it. I'll have to call my bro back...I forgot to ask. (he's older than I, so he should know)

And yes Tread...we shall meet someday.

PS: A big warm welcome to all you new guys! Hollowpoint, Michel, and panzerman.

Well I've waited long enough. I'm 48, and leave in Middle Tennessee by way of Tennessee, Ohio, Michigan, Southern California, Ohio, Tennessee again, then 11 years of active duty in Kentucky, Louisiana, Germany and back to California. I was an Air Force brat. I spent 13 years in California and have no deisre to live there anymore.

29 again (for the 11th time) and anywhere the NAVY sends me. Currently Oklahoma City OK., originally Forks Washington. You fellas up in Victoria or Vancouver B.C, might know where that is. I watched enough of you Television programs. What ever happened to the Irish Rovers and the show about the folks that pushed logs around in the bays and inlets? It was kind of an early "Northern Exposure".

Must be nice to be able to buy fireworks. Here in Illinois the only thing you can buy without a permit is a box of sparklers...... whoopie...... Most people just drive across the border to Indiana to get some of those high explosives. You know, the good fireworks. We can't even buy bottle rockets without a permit. C'mon, I'm responsible ::::::::trying not to laugh too much at this thought::::::::
